Stupid broke kid builds something : KILLSHOT : JET Killshot, Madwheelz 125s, Dumbo X6PM, BN M1 Helical Street drivetrain, Haggy 6374, 12s4p, Unity (Soon to be Stormcore)

Thanks for they replies guys! I know the numbers are kind of crazy and its really playing with fire, and im grateful for the answers yall have provided, It has really helped shed light on some of my questions. I was getting a lot of conflicting info about the stormcore vs dv6s heat issues, and made the wrong purchase decision haha. Im probably going to lower my settings to keep the esc alive in the meantime, while i find another esc to meet my needs.

I was thinking of going for a skp solo, or a dv6s. From what i could gather, i would be able to run 140 motor amps with no issues with the solo, and 100 for the dv6s.

But, considering the insane price difference, what kind of benefits am i looking at considering this is a 12S system? Yea there’s a 40amp difference but in a real world scenario considering the battery i have in it will i be experiencing a significant difference?

The DV6s is rated for 180A phase current

New stuff again

Was getting kind of high temps for both my esc and motors, so i decided to get a heat sink.

I also edited the stl files for my gearbox bashguards for better airflow to the vents on the reacher motors. Temps are now super low which is nice.

Some pics of me installing the sick ass unisink which i bought off of linny.

My arms are gonna be itchy tonight from all the fibreglass work🥲

Deleted my post cus i missed a photo^

Nice looking board.

Have you dropped the fault recovery times (motor config /advanced on both channels) from the 500ms default to a more reasonable number like 80ms?

At least then there’s a better chance of getting throttle back with only a warning before you get chucked off the front of the board.

I had two 60D+ stormcores. One goes fine set to 95 motor amps, the other caught fire whilst switched off after reporting a DRV fault and being ridden home with a single motor.

How high were your temps and how did you mount the DV6s to the InfinitySink?

Hey.
How is the remote working out?

Temps were around 65c ish max, Avg 57c mosfet side when accelerating and braking really hard on flat roads, and motors were around 70c max and 58c avg.

Post heatsink and gear drive bashguard motor airflow modifications , both temps are about 10 degrees c less on average in similar conditions.

As for mounting, holes were drilled out on the mounting plate for the esc to be mounted horizontally, we drilled the main heat sink to accomodate the screw heads so the two pieces could mate. A Thermal pad was added on the mounting plate to heatsink side, and thermal paste for the ESC to plate side.

One way or another, I was definitely WAY over what it was rated for, but i do appreciate the idea it does make sense. Alas, I swapped it out for a dv6s already so I dont have to mess around anymore LOL

Shit I guess I better put mine to use soon then. I’ve seen 70 esc and 80 motor a couple times on my D100s… Not sure what’s normal but I’m guessing those temps aren’t lol

Are you using regular batteries on your Dumbo remote?

Yes! Im still running 4 AAs. Me and Linny are planning to do some testing with 2s lipos with a USB c charging board. If im not wrong, the dumbo x6pm was designed to be 2s compatible so it should be fine.

Hill runs and some updates! Im running bldc at the moment, so my top speed is kind of insane. Slapped some hex vicious griptape and swapped the rear board-side bushing for a chubby bushing. Handles absolutely phenomenally. Considering my weight (56kg), its basically a rocket. The bldc punch just kicks so good, and it sounds fantastic!

Hey, I have a Killshot 38 deck, and I gotta get different trucks. Currently looking at the BKB 236 trucks. Just looking at your build and trying to plan for mine. Is your deck the 38 or 40-inch deck? Wanna prevent wheelbite on SR125s
