Stripped my hypertruck lite after just a few miles

Just to start off I’ll mention I’m somewhat of a newb to building esk8’s. This is my second build.

So what I think happened was I possibly used screws/bolts that were too short and that put more stress on the hypertruck lite truck and after just a few miles one of the holes is completely stripped, another one is a little stripped i think. I went to pick up my board and the whole drivetrain slanted sideways… great!

I thought it was just because I didnt loctite anything but unfortunately when I took the truck off my deck today I discovered the stripped hole(s)…

So attempting to make the best outcome from this shitty situation, I got some longer bolts and installed them with red loctite. I also added an anti sink plate.

I’m letting the loctite cure for 24 hours before testing anything. Fingers crossed it all holds up…

I may need to eventually purchase a new hypertruck lite truck to truly fix this problem. Any insight into what I may have done to strip it would be appreciated, as I would like to know what I did wrong and how i can avoid this happening again if I purchase a new truck.

Im not using any rubber “riser pads” between the truck and the deck, but I didnt think that’d be a problem…

Im 220 pounds, am I possibly too heavy for hypertruck lites? I wish the truck design were where it allowed the bolt to fully extrude through the bottom of the truck to where you would fasten a nut to the bolt, then I wouldn’t be dealing with this stripped truck nonsense.

Any comments/insights are appreciated.

What’s on the underside of the baseplate? Can you just drill those threaded holes out and put a nut on the bottom side like normal trucks?

He accidentally made his trucks better

Loctite has its uses, being used as a helicoil isn’t one of them.

I’d drill them and use nylock nuts.

Unfortunately its slanted like this so im not sure drilling through and using a nut would work but… if it fails again it may be worth trying. I went for a ride today and it seems to be holding up.

The red part is approx. where the screw is

The loctite was so they dont come loose again, im not expecting it to fix the stripped hole. Just hoping the other 3 are enough to keep it all together

No way I’d risk streetfacing, hoping a known stripped screw holds with only loc-tite and the other three don’t also strip, one of which felt half stripped.

If there is no room to drill and use a longer screw and a nylock nut, tap the stripped hole for a bigger screw

Is tapping to M6 a possibility?
