You cannot always get away with using 2 bearings indeed.

Oh no, you are going to stir something here hahaha

You are not using aluminum blocks on your dirt bikes right?

Do they even have aluminum blocks for those?

on dirt bikes they’re called “cases” and yes… they’re all aluminum with some magnesium bits…

on race cars n truks where a lot of things matter aluminum motor blocks are a definite performance thing (where the rulez allow such asshattery!)

Interesting, i was thinking stuff cracking because of rocks and stuff hitting , but thats more the case of enduro bikes probably. I bet you could indeed use the weight reduction on those cases.

Anyway gotta run, i hear bill coming with the keys again.

I had a similar noise with 170kv 6374s maytechs… I had a bitch of a time diagnosing, new shaft and bearings… the magnets broke loose and i couldn’t tell until i removed the plastic retaining ring. I have a can with 3 magnets that came unseated…planning on resetting with carbon fiber epoxy/resin…

In the same boat. First I thought the shaft was bent.

Removing it was extremely easy, NO HEAT, finger force(no tools) only using a bearing puller/press:

No glue at all on the shaft…

And of course it has shifted during use and killed the front bearing.

Changed the bearings now to NSK bearings and will re-seat the shaft, will see how it lives afterwards.
