had to make adjustments and when i hooked the spintend up to the vesc tool, it only works on one side. i even switched the moteors to prove it wasnt motors. of the 2 usb-c terminals only one will connect
help help
It’s there a way to reset the vesc terminals?
You can communicate to any ESC in a CAN network from any ESC, try re-uploading a known functional firmware and do the rest by forwarding, wiping it used to work when I had detection issues with my dual FS
Forwarding?
‘CAN forwarding’ is when you control an ESC in a CAN network from a different ESC, basically you only need 1 functional port to program
I replaced the firmware and it didn’t help. Are you suggesting I can link a second esc and program through it?
You should be able to, at least across classic VESC based ESCs you could
i have a working stormcore 100D. how do i link the two? usb c or another port?
It would be over the CAN BUS which is the 4 pin port that we only use the middle 2 pins of, although I don’t know if they run the same core firmware…you’d have to ask someone more knowledgeable than me about compatibility between certain derivatives, StormCore is Unity inspired and runs something custom
Is it showing a working canbus connection when hooked up to Vesc Tool? (Box in lower left side.)
check out my video where I set up the DV6, I think you might find it useful
It is a little different than stormcore, but the vesc configuration should technically work the same. You can use the CAN forward button in the tool to configure the second side.
Unfortunately though you cannot flash firmware across CAN, that has to be done through the local port
I’ve got him on the path of flashing through swd.
Might be the better route if he really can’t access that usb port
Sometimes you have to flash bootloader to get firmware to stick, not sure if that’s a thing on stormcore or not
it shows one moter in the can bus box
i have watched your vid. i am using that info along with ben’s video
Ah gotcha
yeah it’s a little tricky, I’ve dealt with something similar and it really was annoying, fortunately both my usb ports worked though
when i connect the can cable to the swd i get an error that reads: the i/o operation has been aborted because of eithera thread exit or an application request.
