Good old big foot haero had no issue with gravel, tall grass, sand and even snow. It was however no match for boston public works who decided to fucking super mario cart my ass with some good old oil slick. :fu:

What’s that plastic you put around the bruise? A transparent band-aid / plaster?

Tagaderm is one of the brand names for it. I get it on Amazon for cheap, pharmacy is 3-4 times as much.
Good stuff, helps keep it moist. Hit the wound with triple-boitic then put that stuff over it(wider so you have adhesion)

I’m glad your okay but I did have to laugh at that comment.

Quick update. Bumped into boston public works cleaning up. Cool dudes. We had a good laugh at my report which also includes the mario cart comment

Directing my rage at the random truck that probably have a leaky transmission or something. The fuckers.

And ya thats Tagaderm… someone knows his first aid supply. Its good shit… Problem with it is that it sometimes does too good of a job and the skin don’t really heal. I took mine off now I am back home and blood pretty much pooled up under the bandaid. Gonna take a shot of whiskey and alcohol wipe the thing and let it dry.

Best treatment though (which I ran out off) is hydrogel burn pad. Those are amazing. A little hard to keep in place. I use some medical tape to hold it down.

I see. Yeah, wondering what to put on mine before I head to bed in an hour  Whatever I have I guess.

Vodka and spit

It’s better for when the wound is done discharging.
Hydrocoloid bandages are really good too(assume similar to hydrogel), they’re great for pulling stuff and absorbing wound gunk.

I’m stocked up on all this shit, for me, and for group rides to send someone home with a couple days worth.

Road rash sucks, I don’t ride without kevlar now.

Is that similar to what they use on tattoos? My mother’s a nurse so we used to have a lot of that stuff at home but never really used it because we didn’t get big (as in big surface area not big deep damage) wounds. Am I right that that’s very good for surface stuff like road rash and less so for deeper cuts?

You are exactly correct. Putting that on deep cuts is a no no.

Sanded one of nips off the other day, that was the lightest of the road rash.

I’m sorry for laughing as hard as I just did. That’s the only nip injury I’ve ever seen. Absolutely epic.

I feel honored to break though the nip barrier

No idea where to find decent arse armor… I have the china upper body armor which worked great due to the exoskeleton sliding. What did not work great was the thinner padded hip armor. All plastic parts were heavily scratched and torn leaving my arms with some small painful sports(non bruising but I almost never bruise even when breaking bones). The padded hip part shredded on the pavement and left me with this…

^Most of the red is completely numb 1 month later. Does not feel a thing, and also oddly enough it does not sweat anymore. Even in a sauna it is a little dry patch. Really screwed up those sensory neurons lol.

Any ideas for good HIPS and arse? Was looking at the Leatt 5.5 upper body armor combined with the leatt shorts but I do not know if it will cover my hips well. Padding looks thin and non-sliding. Also there is nothing on the actual butt because they are moto pads like most equipment we use.

Really hoping for something like an exoskeleton that can snap over pants as if it were a climbing harness…

^Imagine this with the padded exoskeleton hip and butt sliders with a simple all in one buckle in the front. My biggest problem with padded butt protectors is they dont slide on pavement but they most certainly will slide off of your hips in a crash like mine above. They’re also too bulky to wear under pants, and wearing over pants bunches everything up.

Does anyone know a system like the harness one above?

I swear If I have to add this to my project list

I have those leatt pads and only have worn em two or three times. They are nice though! Idk what size you are but I may be interested in selling em as I I’m not using em like I thought I would.

They definitely give some protection though, and fit under jeans/shorts
