Girlfriend learning to ride. Of course didn’t want to wear pads because she “isn’t going that fast” I didn’t pay attention and she gained too much speed.

that’s exactly what i did, but it’s horrible for the nerves & kills living tissue as well. just took a bar of soap to it next time around

First mistake, you didn’t pay attention? Nah, she didn’t pad up, that’s the first mistake. Usually a mistake only made once though.
Did she at least wear a helmet?

Nope no helmet. This is the first time she went anything faster than walking speed. Lesson learned

Yeah, sometimes the worst accidents can happen at zero to low speed. Imagine for a moment she hit full throttle from standstill for whatever reason.
Skateboard tugs her feet and legs from under her, inertia makes sure her body pivots in place, and her skull cracks against the road.
Also, never trust esk8 noobs to make the right judgement calls, or not do incredibly stupid things (especially when spooked).

Clearly. She just stepped off the board because she was trying to stop after gaining speed on a very slight grade. She’s alright though. Just a little sore

Not bad for a 40mph crash. Board started swerving… I guess speed wobbles but it felt different… like something with the motor or a puncture (didn’t check focbox for errors before shutdown 🤦) and the tyres are still inflated.
BRB, buying pads for next time

Seriously man it was so weird. Road was perfect and I felt in full control of the board. Got barrels on her too. I’d been flying along quite happily and then wham. I’m usually quite good at sensing wobbles if they occur, but this came out of nowhere. Keep going over it in my head and I can’t pin it down which is fucking me up psychologically.
I’ve seen my motors on my other boards doing an aggressive “ass wiggle” recently when going near top speed, or full throttle uphill (which I don’t remember it doing before). I actually posted about it in newbie questions if it was something like I set the motor amps too high.
