Introduce my short deck racing board project

earthwing 36 inch deck
hobbywing max5 200a esc
epoxy resin
vacuum pump
carbon fiber, peelpy, fiberglass, vacuum fims, mesh
things still in preparation:
inner runner motor
percesion truck
1:5 gear ration gear drive

I see you’re also affected with the curse of ALWAYS typing “ration” instead of “ratio” and the spellcheckers don’t catch it. Fellow sufferer here.

after polished deck, decide try use carbon fiber infusions to skinning the deck.
did two attempts

but I screwed up later, realized i need change infusions ports, resins only can through half…

Here is my plan, make a little aero kit for the deck & esc will be stick tail of the deck.
Did both side carbon skinning after.

here is the step I skinning the deck (without vacuuming)
1:brush first layer of resin first
2: gently lay out the carbon fiber cloth
3: pouring another layer resin
4: apply peelpl (ensure it been rolled smooth & no bubbles)
5: put a layer of tissues for absorb extra resins
6: add up a layer of vacuum flims, press the flims gently ensure tissue absorbing.

That shit happened to me too, except my stupid second hand vacuum pump failed. wet layup was the way to go for me as well

What’s going on under your back foot? Judging by the last two photos, I’d be amazed if that was holding your foot really well.
