Hey y’all! I recently got a new board and was looking to put both a shocbox and trick sticks from ShocBoard Systems on it. However, they are completely out of stock on their website and have not responded to either my email or instagram message. Has anyone heard from them?
Also, a friend of mine who went to esk8con this year said he didn’t see them anywhere, so are they MIA?
I don’t think they were actually ever offered for sale. Not sure the details on why though. But they never came to market fully, just some prototypes. A friend has one of them on an endurance. Works well but they’re not super comfortable since they don’t have any shape that contours to your foot, just a round handlebar shape.
If you can adapt it depending on your deck , a better option is the tomiboi toe hook. But the hook doesn’t always fit a deck.
Not that I’ve seen really. I bet if you brought both to a machine shop and asked if they could make some sort of bended bracket from flat stock to attach a toe hook to the truck bolts that they could do it.
Or if you’re capable yourself I say go for it. Bend some stock and find a way.
I personally wouldn’t trust not breaking a carbon lid by mounting to it. Maybe some have done it successfully though?
The suspension works really well imo. I got to try it at esk8con last year over their demo track made of rock climbing rocks and it was a blast.
It feels weird to carve hard because the turning characteristics change as the suspension compresses, almost turns into a surf skate feel. I’m not sure how it would do at high speeds, but seems fine as long as you don’t try to crank the board around.
I noticed they weren’t there this year and I’ll be really sad if they’re gone for good
Maybe they are just slow in responding. I see that they were active on IG a week ago.
I tried their stuff at esk8con 2 & 3. Pretty cool product but not something I would actually buy given my esk8 usage. I think paying for a booth at esk8con is probably cost prohibitive given that they are still a home garage business that haven’t sold too many units.
I forgot what board review I was watching couple days ago, but the reviewer mentioned that one of the board makers are looking to incorporate Shocboard’s suspension trucks into their production board. So there’s hope that the company is still operational.
