I don’t know why you guys are so concerned. Cut the guy some slack, he just doesn’t know the right terms. He’s built a very effective continuity tester, complete with audible, visible, and thermal indicators. Also double as a voltage tester - higher the voltage, louder the alarms.

I think this is the worst thing I’ve seen …like ever.
