I would love to believe BN that I’ll never have any problems but I’m just not sure it’s true, also seems a lack of ability to go back and forth, I may be dedicated to AT forever after that
You’re welcome to check out my straight cut Boardnamics drives (and Newbee 4GS) if you want, since you’re local in MA.
That’s an awesome offer, but I am waiting for my end of the month check anyway before I buy. Also I think I’ve learned enough from past mistakes to just buy the jump drives and assume I would have broken the BN strait cut within a year
Does anyone have the link to the Boardnamics strait cut gears?
I really don’t think you will break em. They’re not on the site but available through me and in good stock.
I’m continuing to do research and exploring many options, but you’ve jumped back into first as I feel strait cut(or jumps fancy fix to the helical forces) is a must!
Strait cut being louder but more efficient actually is just what I’m looking for. It’s good to be heard coming in Boston
Are we talking same price as the M1 street or AT or neither?
Same pricing on both.
Jump drives look amazing and perform great from what I’ve heard. I’d like to try a set sometime.
I’ve got full confidence in the BN straight cuts for this board.
I found this to be true as well. If you are on bike paths or places with people, straight cuts are a nice way to give them a heads up that you are coming. People generally smile and move over to see what the noise is.
You aren’t going to break BN straight cuts. They are steel on steel and don’t have any lateral load on the axle.
You also aren’t going to break Jump Drives. Just choose which makes more sense for your setup.
What trucks are you going to use? What rims are you going to use? Make those decisions first, and it will likely become obvious which gear drive is more compatible.
This gives some confidence for sure, because the big issue is really how long until I break something. I’m currently running 12s with dual SKP solos and it pushes some stupid power. Throw in Boston roads and my tomfoolery and I’ve broken every Chinese part I’ve ever had, except the fully CF Hurricane deck!
All good things to think about! I think I’m set on strait cuts at this point! I don’t really care what rims I get but I know I’ll be running BKB 6” wheels and I believe there was a rim setup to support it for both options. Gotta double check tho
Edit: And I am running Savage1 trucks, I believe savage was the one to tell me his trucks work with BN and jump drives
MBS Rockstar Pro II’s (non-XL) will work with 6" tires, up to 8".
