I am very interested in how well this gap is sealed, I don’t think there is a gasket or anything just plastic on plastic or am I wrong?

There is nothing that seals this gap. So every dirt and water stay here. Like that you need to unmount everything to clean the center bearings…

Actually no, the arrows I put in my picture aren’t a moving part.
As seen in these pics.
Looks like a touch of silicone there might be nice but the slip ring is covered by that inner round plastic part dirt getting under that outer plastic should be no problem.
The castor pivot thrust bearing not being sealed well at all is a real issue however
A $1 part fixes this pretty much. I am sure we all wish it was included from the factory. Could even design this part with a sort of grease nipple to let you add grease to the caster pivot bearing without taking anything apart.
