I use a 3m half face respirator without too much issue
and the seal is fine even though youāre not clean shaved ?
Its definitely good enough for particles, vapours is a different story depending how long your beard is.
Anybody got recommendations for jacket/chest plate type gear that can protect my shoulders? I took a spill recently and had my second injury on my right shoulder, which means Iāve finally experienced enough pain and injury to learn my lesson.
My primary concern is impact protection for my shoulders, preferably something that can be worn in warm weather
beyond riders might have something to suit your needs. bionic jackets may also be a good fit. i have one from alpinestars iāve taken a couple 30mph+ spills with it and itās held up great, came out the other side with minimal injury
i got some triple8 saver mediums today i feel like they are going to come off. im a medium sized dude 5ā10 avg build. the elbows feel good the knees feel like they need another go around for preferred tightness but not possible and the simple velcro and no leg sleeve is kinda a bummer
Thank you TSG pass for saving my life.
I broke my right clavicle, a rim on my Lacroix emtb is bent and my crash vest looks nasty but the helmet took the full impact.
I was out for a few minutes and I got a cool ambulance ride out of it.
So yes, I can definitely recommend a tsg pass, it can save your head when youāre getting slingshot towards the pavement.
In the other thread you said that you had a severe concussionā¦
I think you need a proper motorcycle helmet
Maybe this post is a requirement to get the 30 percent off ? TSG saved my life program - How to take part? - TSG
Me? No.
I never said anything about a concussion.
I have none because of the helmet.
You said that you woke up to 3 girls and couldnāt recall what happend, that is a concussion https://forum.esk8.news/t/the-bitching-thread-bitch-about-random-shit-get-it-all-off-your-chest/8694/7405?u=dimos15
No, that is temporary amnesia, a concussion has longer lasting effects like nausea, dizziness etc.
I think we are nitpicking here or perhaps terminology is different in different areas but that is certainly a concussion where I am from. You donāt even need to lose consciousness to have a concussion.
Biomedical engineer, 1st aid certified, concussion awareness trained multiple times for coaching, had a few concussions.
I once fell on my [helmet-bearing] head at slow speeds. I didnāt lose consciousness nor had any obvious cognitive decline but I was discombobulated for a few good minutes.
Iām pretty sure that was a concussion; I checked later and it ticked all the boxes.
Fine, maybe it is or was a concussion but I have / had no lasting effects from that one.
The had my head and spine ct scanned, I have no dizziness or other leftovers and I have no neurological issues or vomiting or something.
Iām just in pain from the broken clavicle while I wait to be operated on Tuesday.
Then itās just waiting to heal and get mobility back.
When the weather is nice maybe I can go skate again this year.
Good feels and fast heals!
Thanks a bunch!
