that what I meant with wrong Alu
Welding aluminum is really hard.
And if you were it is the 2 holes drilled in the center causing the issue.
there the cross section is even less.
Yes, I would fuse the charge port on the skate.
seems that way
We should get someone heavy to test Boardnamics hangers, they’re 2cm shorter but still long enough for huge motors. I was planning on ordering a pair of HeXl trucks, but this worries me (I know it’s just 1 snap, but not that many people own them to begin with)
MTB hangers are much wider
I feel like this was one of those super unlucky acidents?
I doubt it
So was it the new hangers from psichotiller?
He has new trucks. They ressemble SR TKP but have a counterbore for 2 bolts probably around 5-7mm deep and around 10mm diameter
I guess it looks a little like this
Where SR’s look a little like this
Ill leave it to an engineer to explain all of this
SR Hanger width 177mm
PT Hanger width 240-260mm
SR axles 10mm shoulder bolts - up to 110mm
PT axles standard 8mm
Yes, that is what I saw.
I’m an engineer
Was it his trucks that snapped or SR?
PT hangers snapped
Don’t forget the #1 cause of hanger breakage: cyclic fatigue
Basically you ride it a lot, it gets weaker
Needs to be over-engineered in the first place
Fuckkk, I put 150-200 miles on mine on rough ass roads already.
I love the trucks soo much, the control is just too good, but if I cant ride them point a to b because it snaps…
2 cells vented due to a short caused by a loose nickel strip that managed to bend itself inwards.
Main cause was launching the board in the air via curb.
All the other cells are in good health and dont have many cycles on then so switching them out shouldnt be too bad.
Don’t overthink it just yet. Yeah one snapped. Let’s give Dave the chance to fix/find a solution before everyone panics.
that looks alot like the luna cycle chargers and they are some of the best chargers
…but noisy. If you have a female significant other, this may be a concern.
