I saw that photo and got worried your collarbone was donezo. Glad you’re doing okay. Once I broke mine it never went back. You’re a tank if that’s all that happened at that speed (I broke 2 vertebrae 1 in my neck, 1 lower back, shattered metacarpal and a few others in my hand, at 42mph a few years back)

Once again glad you are okay dude, I’m rooting for you on the recovery and hope you get back on the board soon.

Speaking of how’s the board?

You and me both dude. Seeing my shoulder in a visibly different shape than normal was certainly spooky.

I’d love for this to be the case but I gotta give credit to my dual axis knee/shin guards, I was only riding a few miles so my gear was pretty minimal but I got an urge to wear my good knee pads as well. I’m pretty confident those probably took the brunt of the impact and did an incredible job protecting me, my legs and knees aren’t even aware that I crashed.

Yeesh, hoping your recovery went well man.
I came out pretty lucky for sure.

Thanks man, I appreciate the support.
The board took a beating but overall looks like it also came out really lucky, I have yet to check in depth though.

I definitely obliterated my PNWesk8 charge port cover. I’m probably going to retire the whole charge port as well as the Z mote. My ESC enclosure took a beating as well but looks structurally fine so I think that’ll be fine to leave battle scarred.

I really appreciate all the support y’all, I’m down but not out, I’ll be back in the bindings soon.

Mine has never done back. Forever funny lookin’, luckily that’s it. No pain unless i’m going ham on a backpack trip.

And dude heck freakin yeah i’m so glad your board is still in decent shape, at least now you got something relatively easy to tinker on while you’re moving slow.

We’ve all had our fair share of falls but getting up to that speed our group gets smaller. Just good to see another rider safe and in a good spot after a spill (as good as you can be lol).

Keep us updated we are thinking about you.

What happened here?

motor went bluetooth at around 30-35mph just before i normally start braking hard for a 90° turn. it was either slam into a reinforced gate or bail in the grass. couldn’t ride it out in the grass cause the fence extends out too far for me to swerve around. board and myself did a barrel roll and that was the only damage somehow, fortunately
edit: line was about where i realized my motors went bluetooth and dot was where i put it down. forgot i also had to squeeze my way between a pole too

Damn, bummer. What happened to your motors?

I assume “went Bluetooth” means wireless, as in the wires popped out. Looks like a top-of-rear-trucks ESC box, so idk what could have ripped the wires out

That’s what I thought too… maybe phase wires disconnected or something, but I’m not hip on the youngsters lingo

“bluetooth”
it didn’t come that far apart but it was enough to disengage the drive system

I am really interested in how this goes for you.

I may need to do this to my street Flux…

I wonder how much ground clearance I would loose…

@mackann what length/width is the deck?

still dont know if it will ever happend, not sure if it worth the cost of to make them yet

Well shit, rough week.

This was my partner falling this time, and rather than falling by any fault of their own (my preferred method) they fell because the zealot deck completely snapped where the trucks mate

X-rays don’t show any bone damage, just some lost skin on the hand and elbow.

This happened to me on an evolve GTR a few years back, they wouldn’t even replace the deck. Said it was my fault for “riding too hard”

Fuck evolve, seriously.
All the best, heal well!

This happened to me as well on my first esk8, a backfire 2b something, but broke near the back truck while braking in the middle of traffic. And this was back when i just weighed 52kg lol. Backfire’s decks seriously suck monkey balls. Hope you and your friend heal up nice and quick

I had a mtb truck snap underneath me the week before I flew to Colorado for an esk8 event
