Looking good, what’s the outer distance between bearings?
I usually don’t get my caliper out before 8am , but 39mm.
Are those supposed to be higher end equivalents to MBS hubs?
Wider equivalence. They’re like Xcell or NewBee wheels except they stay true longer, weigh less and cost a lot less, $125 for a set.
Whatcha mean?
My Xcells were precision equipment for about a week. After I went down a few rough roads with the low-profile tires, they were quite wobbly. The fiberglass filled Nylon-6 won’t do that. That being said, they’re more appropriate for off-road use as well.
Considering the price tag on XCells I would have expected better
It’s partially my fault for not really using them right. The same thing happens with expensive car rims if you ride down rough roads with low-pro tires. The prescision aluminum stuff is probably best for racers, not riders like me.
Any reason to worry about the spokes on superstars?
No, super-stars and phatladz are both nice, but if you run 6-8 wheels on them there is a big, fat lip. The tires don’t stretch to the edge.
I need those hubs!
dafuq is this? paper rim?
Sorry if I missed it – do these hubs use an MBS or Trampa-style pattern? I’m thinking about gear drive capability. It looks like screw/post -based ones would work, but we’d need a new puck for @ApexBoards latest gear drives.
He’s got 62t pulleys for $88 per set.
I believe MBS
MBS pattern. Just be patient with the Jump drives They threw a wrench in my gears with their beautiful press-to-fit design, but solutions are on the way.
I’m really looking forward to Tomiboi made pulleys! ETA on the pulleys? I would rather buy pulleys from Tomiboi than Newbee.
I’m actually working on the quote as we speak. It will probably take 2-3 months to make them happen.
