How do you think theyāll hold up to debris like broken glass or metal that would normally risk a flat tire? That is why I decided against tires despite liking everything else about them since my area has roads that look like theyād lead to a landfill everywhere:scream:
Do rocks hit your legs?
I think theyāll be fine. From what i am told there is about 8mm of rubber on top of the high density foam. I dislike pneumatics for their fragility, so these are a welcome option for me.
@b264 itās usually the other way round. My legs hit the rocks.
They hit my legs but normally I donāt even notice it until later on I take a shower and find some new bruise that I donāt remember getting
It sounds like the only the outer rubber would be damaged then which might not cause any issues or if itās bad enough a tire patch kit could easily fix it.
If you ever need some testing done on them with roads that seemingly never get cleaned, then let me know and Iād be glad to intentionally drive them through some real world debris for you. I know plenty of areas that are always covered in a thin layer of glass and other car parts from people not understanding what yield means accidents
I reckon most road debris is gonna have a very hard time getting through 8mm of rubber. I have high hopes
You got enough cells in there bud?
18s7p?
Never enough cells. Haha
Yeah 18s7p
What enclosure is that?
Flux AT2?
Yep its a Flux AT2. You do have to shave off these additional plastic mounts for the stock battery to fit a 18s7p.
Ride vids?
Where is the rest of your gear!
Obviously it is not finished but the Stooge wheels the back with the 97mm abec at the front makes it look like a mini dragster. Sure Iāll take some vids once completed
Oh, nice, always dreamed of getting one of those, never seen a resin printer in persone, Iāve heard the smell and fumes are much worst than those a any fdm printer which makes it impossible to use at home if you donāt have a real workshop
I have a ventilated area for printing fortunately.
Yeah itās kinda nasty, but the parts come out so clean itās mind-blowing
Someday Iāll have a descent workshop and Iāll get one
its not that bad. I have the tiny photon. Has an active filter on the outlet, sure if you sit right next to it its not ideal. But otherwise its kinda meh
Mini photon is pretty great when it works. I made a Z axis upgrade on mine and the prints are superb.
Takes some patience though, since you donāt know if the print is succeeding until mid way through and delamination is a constant battle.
I can only imagine the frustration with these larger resin printers
Saw theres ABS based resin nowdays thats sāposed to be durable. I havnāt pulled the trigger on it yet tho
Iāve had shards of glass pierce through 5 mm of very hard urethane so I wouldnāt say it is impossible. I think the depth of my urethane sleeves isnāt much deeper than that but I donāt know the exact thickness for them for a better comparison. Also Iāve removed much larger shards of glass before but just didnātā think to measure the piece of glass after removing it
