8mm, it was an turnigy sk3. The circlip caused a stress point. The motor mount got loose misaligned the chain causing a lockup and the shaft broke

yes iā€™m currently working my way through the mountain of unpainted models i have (also currently listening the Horus heresy)
hobbyking are on backorder so iā€™m probably gonna switch out the shaft from a broken motor

Chains can be dangerous. Not seen a failure like that though yet!

Its always in my mind that it can lock up at any momentā€¦ Only happened once to me though, on nice soft dirt, not pavement.
