What are those black stripes, velcro?
Are the groups connected in the middle with nickel? Cannot see any evidence of cables or braided copper connecting them

Yeah they are joined in the middle with nickel. The black tape is harness tape. I like it cos you can go all the way round the pack with it, but its got a bit of stretch, so the pack still flexes easily.

Cool, will check out this harness tape. One thing I have trouble with is to turn each half around to continue to tape around the bottom part, because it’s still not so rigid.
Are those nickel connections in the middle still flexible enough?
They arent supposed to be flexible. I tape around them with fibre tape to hold the two segments tight together

You’re right, only the 5 sections are supposed to be flexible between each other.

It is the Coyote.
Comfortable might
the last thing I would call it.
It is tiny.
It is a death trap.
That makes it fun.
But certainly not comfortable.
I 6 ft and wear a size 11 shoe so both my feet are hanging off a bit.
I think of this set up as a toy with the novelty of being tiny.
A comfortable kicktail is it’s fat cousin the Omakase.
Having said all that I did 12 miles on the Coyote yesterday and my feet were ok.

i fucking agree, the tail on omakase is so comfortable, granted i only had tayto to compare but damn, the upgrade is huge for just a bigger tail

Oh yeah.
Compared to the Tayto the Omakase is like floating on relaxed oceans…
Both the tail and the mellower concave and width up front.
