For real. Gaming cpu will fix all my problems I’m sure

gaming cpu? what’s gaming about it

It is made of components that are fast/powerful enough to handle more graphic and cpu intensive games.

AKA, it’s not a 6 year old laptop.

Do these gaming cpu also help for CAD softwares to run faster I mean not crash all the time? I want to sell my iMac and get a PC but I haven’t bought a PC since early 2000s.

You could buy a gaming pc and run all cad software perfectly fine.

Sell that iMac lol

I know  it’s not a bad computer but i use it for work and my main software doesn’t work on Mac OS so I need to run Windows in it and o rarely go back to OSX anymore so it got to go.

Haha I’m just being harsh, iMacs are just way overpriced unless you need FinalCut or Protools (or Logic? I don’t remember the Mac exclusive) or whatever

Without going to gaming PCs and DIY PC building what would be a good mid range machine? I said CAD but I mainly use it to design 2D stuff for CNC carving. I always say I need to learn 3D or stuff like fusion360 but I didn’t commit any time to it yet

desktop or laptop?

You really dont need to go all out on a PC. I use a really old laptop (about 8 yrs) atm and will use it until I decide to build a ultra small factor PC

It can play CSGO relatively well @ 120 FPS on low settings and does well with simple CAD models and small assembly files.

Laptop specs:

i7 3630QM
8gb ram
gtx 660m
SSD

The everyday person doesnt need anymore than this :point_up_2:

Better if its a small desktop if you are like me and find it difficult to keep any portable device in working condition after a year

I thinking desktop but if a laptop can do the same without issues why not.

Thanks, i will look at the offers locally to see what are my options with those specs.

That’s not really an issue for me, I used the same laptop for over 8 years before it kicked the bucket and I am came back to using an old iPhone 5s that is holding up better than the other newer models I had.

Main concern would be space cause I don’t have a dedicated office room and my desk is next to a 2X2m bed that takes almost the whole room

does the whole village sleep in that bed?

Looks like the tag you put on your car in Yerp if the driver is on a probationary/provisional license.

Does @PixelatedPolyeurthan get to drive now?

AUSTRALIAN MATE
it’ the aussie driver progression thingy what you call it.
you start off with L’s for like 1 year where you have to be accompanied by an adult, then 6 months with green P’s with some restriction or other and then 6months of red P’s. if you get any fine with you P’s say good bye to your licence lol
But learning to drive is aussie is free, unlike france where you have to… yes, have to pay 1200euro to learn to drive

@glyphiks can probably help you out more on the details, i forget them…or never really learnt them same thing
