Yeah I guess you’re paying for the assembly and look
Yep torqueboards has been at it for a bit
To be fair, @Taraskasyanyuk basically built one lol
lol yeah Dex sent me that board but not assembled . I used loctite though.
But what is that on his rear wheels I need to know my curiosity is killing me
my running theory is some kind of weird carbon fiber shield? he seems to love wrapping everything in the stuff, its even on his glasses, but i honestly have no idea. i also dont know what the hell silicon pillows coated in black PU are, or where they are in any of those pictures XD
i just like how he literally just makes whatever tf he wants.
The top mounted baseplate used to hold the headlight/flashlight is pretty creative lol, never seen that one before.
i was most impressed by the homemade wings.
I don’t either, but I suspect it’s under the foot holder things, on top of the deck.
Seems to me a cushion there would reduce your steering control though
i almost tagged you in that post because he changed out his wheelie wheels for some kinda stroller wheels. maybe he runs bushings that are too loose and needed some steering dampening, iunno. the black PU threw me off, as everywhere id put my feet on that thing is silver.
edit: the black outline around the foot pads in one pic makes me think youre right.
Just noticed you have a waterborne sticker as well! You still riding yours around?
I never really liked them. Couldn’t find a setup that they worked for me with.
Did you use the back one as well?
Yeah i got the back one. There was just something about the way that the front one turns, more like a pendulum or something rather than a normal truck pivot, just felt weird to me. Much prefer dedicated surf trucks like the carver cx
Yeah it’s taking a lot of getting used to for me as well. Feels like matrix 2 trucks with no bushings I’m only using the front for now. It’s perfect for my boy though. He’s so light that he can’t turn half my other boards
i have a surf adapter, i HATE it. lmao. i ended up bolting it through sandwiched on the nose of my old deck and using it as a wheelbase extender for a while.
What deck did you try it on? It’s definitely a weird feeling. I stepped on the deck and it just collapsed under me. Being able to make a full circle in a single lane is nice though.
boosted mini deck. with how i ride and how i tune my board, i can do that anyways. the speed wobbles got waaaaaayyyyy too real with the surf adapter. im used to back end wobbles. i have learned to ride those out, long ago, and i usually just tune my back end in until they arent possible under regular conditions. but front end wobbles? fuuuuuuck that.
