Remove pulley sidewall?

Hi! So I have 66T Evolve Pulleys & 15T drive pulleys and 360mm Belts. Unfortunately unlike the default evolve 15T drive pullies, these 15T pullies have sidewalls on both sides. When mounted, the outer side wall in red touches the wheel Pulley. :sob:

Is there anyway to easily remove one of the side walls? Or do I just have to sand it down using a Dremel or something?

Thanks in advance for helping a noob!

It will pop right off

Hmm. How do pop it off? It seems pretty stuck on there.

Could use a long screw 2 washers a nut for the screw, a drill and a file/sand paper (file would be better ig) put everything in so it sandwiches the pulley well(so it can’t spin) and put the rest of the screw in the drill and spin it (at a safe speed!) And file it down putting some pressure but not too much and doing the filing movement ( you could also replace the screw, etc with the motor shaft of the motor and key + grub screws)

Edit: for some reason this sound harder than I thought it would be :man_shrugging:

you should be able to put it on a shaft, grab the ring with pliers and twist it right off.

Once bent it will never go back on.

removing a flange accidentally is usually a really bad thing, as in ‘mistakes were made’.

Don’t do it unless you absolutely, positively, commanded by skatan, need to. I have a whole bin of bum pulleys that are no good for high performance bc I though I could mess with them.

Except to make that gif on purpose. Worth it.

I was able to remove the sidewalls! You guys were right, they were no match for my pliers. Thanks for the help all!

Blow on them gently
