it doesn’t work that way.
the BMS in the board protects the battery as best it can. It is likely sensing that one of the cells in the battery is getting full before the rest and cutting off the charge. this is how multi stage batteries fail. some pgroups/cell get worse faster. they loose significant capacity.
this is what leads to people saying:
Even though the BMS tries to protect it… it’s possible that the pgroups are so damaged that they will over charge and catch fire before the bms stops it. and it’s also prone to being used up faster as you ride and going lower than other pgroups and taking more damage. possibly catching fire. or increasing it’s chance of fire on charge.
these are the warning signs that the pack is done.
