Radium Performance

I’m not sure they will be a good all-round wheel, there are trade-offs, primarily straight line stability on uneven surfaces so it depends what you’re after. The mediums are my favorite.

No update at this point. It could be another few months.

Them SR125 wheels are so competent and reliable for street riding. There’s nothing better. And them motors still perform as brand spanking new new hundreds of miles later. I am on the fence swapping my new 245s in. Sitting on these new motors 245 for a while now haha. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Totally agree, they do well on rough roads, but on some of the nice asphalt, it’s like glass. I’m hunting down some park trails to enjoy the Mach One, like a large parking lot.

Thank you for the comment, soft’s would chunk too quickly?

It’s not about durability. The softs don’t chunk either. It’s more to do with handling.

We’ve gone down to 40A duro in testing and at such low durometers the wheels become extremely unstable and over-steery. We’re not going to go down to that duro for the softs but they will still certainly change the handling characteristics and stability vs the medium and hard versions.

Short lunch break ride, most of my area is older streets and patches of smooth asphalt.

Looks like some of the asphalt grew wheels. Took me a moment to recognise it as a Mach One :bat:

Been pushing the Mach 1 harder and harder, it seems to possess bottomless stability, recovering quick even jumping ruts on the pavement and resisting prolonged wobble. Curious to know what the stability limit of speed is on these trucks on smooth blacktop:thinking::thinking:. For the Radium team, will there ever be a Racing tier track focused version of this board? While still fully streetable and reliable? Asking for a friend who likes to far exceed:grin:

On a smooth enough surface I’m sure we could crack 100kph on it. Unfortunately Australia is pretty bumpy unless you know someone with an airport so we haven’t been able to find out.

We have developed truck bushings that further improve stability of the Mach One, but they aren’t in production yet.

We are considering a track focused version, but the market is very small so it can only come after a successful mass produced product.

I’ve been holding back like hundreds of potential improvements because we need to become financially viable before investing more time into R&D, as much as I want to do upgrades.

Reminds me of my first super bike back in 2012. I asked the dealer what is the lifespan of this 200 HP Italian stallion? The response was “ don’t be concerned about its lifespan, question is how long will you last?”:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Hah. Several Mach One’s have already out-lived their riders (sold in fear of further injury)

I bought my motorcycle from a dealer who would set up your new bike for delivery at the loading dock. As in it’s on an incline and very narrow, with a sharp turn to the parking lot. I really think the employees did this to watch new riders crash out the gate.

But riding the Mach One, I felt like the power is very easy to modulate but it feels stable. I rode my little mini board the other day and maybe I just had the wrong setting but it felt almost blocky in the power delivery. More scary then the Mach One.

Does the Velodrome count.. we could do that.. :eyes::red_question_mark:

Depends how big it is. I wouldn’t want a steel fence to interfere with a 100kph slide.
