245kv Radium motor experience on a 15 mile first ride. In case anyone wondering. One word, smooth! Confidence inspiring midrange acceleration smoothness. Most of my riding is done on mode two on 205kv motor, with occasional mode 3 but it gets really touchy. With my new motors I confidently used mode 3 as it’s just so smooth and predictable, kind of like the difference between riding an L Twin Ducati motor vs an MV Augusta 4 cylinder, the four is much smoother and predictable responding. I will say power level 1 is relegated to non use now with these new motors as take off is much less. Good day!
Nice work dude! The 245kv power delivery does feel sooo smooth
We would have done 245kv for the Mach One if the 14T pulleys didn’t cause belt slip under hard braking but we opted for 16T and 205kv for that reason even though I personally never had a problem on 14T.
Great interview hosted by Drew and Thomas covering topics like SR125 wheels for spec racing, the new Darkstar motors, philosophical discussion about when is it no longer a skateboard with the kart tire boards etc, ultra light weight Parsec style boards, the design decisions behind the Mach One S, dual trigger remotes, and much more.
Have you considered running an idler? I can get away with significantly less belt tension with idlers
I am thinking idlers and 20mm belts is the direction to go if we step up to more power for a street focused board.
Indeed, resetting to default produced the following faulty settings:
So I set the parameters as you told me:
I readjusted the Midpoint. In its resting position, it shows an Angle Sensor Readout of 500 :
And here’s how RTS behaves :
I tested RTS ON and then RTS OFF several times on very tight figure-eight turns.
You can really feel that in tight turns, with RTS ON, the RTS system transforms the Mach One into a one-wheel-drive skateboard.
It doesn’t make turning easier and it creates a feeling of power loss since only one wheel is turning to transfer the torque.
On my board, I don’t feel like RTS makes carving easier. The carving is excellent thanks to the quality of the trucks and the overall mechanical design (especially the width and curves of the deck). I ended up disabling it while I figure out how to do better with it.
Is that how it’s supposed to work? When I see all the videos on YouTube saying that RTS is a game changer, I feel like I’m missing out on something, and I’d like to enjoy it as much as they do.
I’ll say it again: the rest of the board is great, and I’m completely satisfied with my purchase. I’m using it every day now. I’ve finally gotten used to the Puck. It’s well-calibrated and the braking is perfectly modulated. The battery life is amazing. I ordered the handle because carrying it is rather a hassle, but that’s the case with all boards around 20 kg with the battery under the deck.
Looks like RTS is operational on ur vid. Torque goes towards lean thus putting more power to the wheel with the most traction / weight. Helps power through turns and thus pivoting the board towards the direction of turn. It effectively pushes the board’s nose into the turn so to say in my experience so riding style and feel is not as you would with RTS off- it’s a more aggressive turning in general and as a result for more seasoned riders JMO. U can always turn it off . I have it on all the time, love the way it feels and gives me more options in spirited riding. The Mach 1 is boundless in capability on the street. I think the S version uses narrower track width in front to achieve more turn response giving that new board excellent response- thinking about it in deductive manner.
Damn that’s clean. Almost looks CGI. Pre-maiden voyage?
The best !
This is current foto
only ridden once by our son who is a beginner so it hasn’t even exceed 12 mph
. Cleaned her up good and put them red belts on along with the yellow SR 125. The original finish is a very nice satin, I love it.
