So it begins! The Phoenix shall rise from the ashes!
So I had a shitty mountainboard, and a set of @surfnacho ’s infinityhubs that managed to escape the fire because I left them at a friend’s garage.
Thanks to the best people ever who helped me out on my GoFundMe after my home and all my belongings burned down , I could afford an 18s2p Battery from @SBS in a Pelican 1200.
The case leaves room for a future battery upgrade, and 18s2p should be light enough to fly off some jumps.
Got a “Seahorse” case from a buddy, basically a lockable pelican case. Mounted the electronics into it the other day:
Also got the Radium/Reacher 138kV motors hooked up electrically. Still have to mount everything up and I need to wait on a pack of the right bolts to do that.
More pics and build progress to come.
Still needs… More chutszpah

Coming along! Chains and sprockets are currently being made by @Facko and the rest just needs time assembly and whatever beatification I can muster.

Looks like a killer start to a board. What deck are you going to be using?

This is the MTB I’m starting from. At least it has truck mounts, foot straps and is made of wood lmao.
A better deck is definitely in the future for me. But for now I’m focusing on making it ride-able

Moar shots, almost done.
So the mounts are
@Janux-esk8 first gen mountainboard mounts I think.
Wheels are
@surfnacho infinityhubs.
Lost some of the bash bars in the fire.
Found these countersunk screws and countersunk red washers so decided to beautify this wreck.
The trucks are cast clones of Matrix 1 obviously. Definitely something I want to improve in the future. Maybe dualities.
Final shit for posterity. Still missing chains and sprockets because I’m broke.

@Skyart are you able to get Reacher motors under 138kV?

Have you considered angled risers? The deck looks to have pretty shallow angles, I imagine turning might be quite difficult
There’s an angled riser on the front, so the front turns a bit but the rear not as much.
Only have one angled riser, these are cast matrix 1 clones that I’m seeking to upgrade as soon as the funds allow.
Been eyeing up dualities, though they’re pricy, and I’d need to get long mounts for them.
I’m hoping to see someone sell a truck and drivetrain set for cheaper at some point in the next 6 months.
woohoo savingssss
but also why I’m always broke lmao

angled risers
Where I thought I’d put a riser I apparently did not. I’m now thinking a lot about angled risers.
Where do I get mountainboard angled risers

Not sure. Google says pteg is stronger unless using “tough resins” whatever that means. Maybe ask the guy you know who prints it.
