When I click the link it doesn’t work. When I right click it, copy link address, paste in search bar, hit enter chrome says “insecure file” and I need to hit “keep file”
With this workaround it does download @Oliver

ah it’s a Chrome thing then. Can confirm on chrome they don’t work when just clicking on it. (Stop using chrome, Firefox for the win)
In chrome right clicking the link and selecting “Save link as” also works.
Or just use Firefox.
The thing is that i’m trying to use hosters that offer direct downloads because users are lazy and don’t want to click 2 or 3 times or even be bothered to visit other sites. I used Onedrive before but they disabled the option to use direct downloads. Can’t upload it here directly because the forum limits the file size.

Try Google drive. Works on everything and you can grab a direct download link, plus people can save stuff to their drive.
You don’t afaik. It still requires you to visit the site and click download with the typical “this file is too big to scan for viruses” text.
When clicking to download version 6.05, the webpage does not respond

Thank you for your reply! Just to clarify, it doesn’t seem to be a browser issue — other versions download without any problems, but specifically version 6.05 fails to work. I even tested it on Firefox and encountered the same error.
Hm interesting. It downloads fine on my end.
I would just host them on here but the file size limit isn’t high enough. I’ll try to find a solution.

I’m trying to find the version that works for firmware 2.53. any idea which version of the vesc that may be?

Darn didnt work! im 2.53 and thisnonly does 2.54.
I tried also the FOCBOX_TOOL but those versions of firmware start with 23.4
You may need to update…
Trampa is going to always say update your firmware to the newest version.
It may solve your current problem and you may need to do it. But 99% of the time that’s probably bad advice. You can not trust Trampa when it comes to firmware version advice. Their interests are not aligned with your interests.

I dont know who this Trampa is. Well i looked around and i tried to find the 2.54 firmware but i couldnt find it. I ended up finding the ACKMANIAC_ESC_TOOL_3_103
and i updated to 3.101. I havnt seen if it works yet.
Should i update to anything newer firmware so i can use the newer Vsec tool or should i just leave it at 3.101 which is the closest i can find to the original 2.53 that was installed?

Newer VESCTool is arguably much easier to use than the older versions, and the wizard keeps getting better. I’d vote for it being a good idea.

So I find the latest software that supports the 4.12 hardware and flash it? If it doesn’t work can I revert back or it’s a one way deal?
