Powered Kayak with esk8 battery

I’ve gotten into Kayaking now and see guys attach a trolling motor with a lead acid 12v battery I wonder what kind of performance I’d get from a 10 or 12s lithium battery? Maybe that type of voltage is not safe in the water.

I think its totally safe if correctly waterproofed
Maybe even safer because there are no vibrations, just “smooth sailing”

I could toss some serious amps to the motor could even water cool it with a water jacket. Hmmm I’m thinking about it.

Going to order a 3 waters big fish 120 kayak in a few days.

Oh I like paddling but would be fun to experiment with esk8 technology in the ocean lol

You should make it a jet drive for skinny water. I have had several fishing kayaks including a Hobie. Even tho the drive fins tuck up pretty flush they are a pain on the flats.

This could be super cool.

Some type of remote integrated in the paddle.

And deffo rock something higher voltage methinks.

Or maybe an Arc 200 or something.

If only there was a 100v FOCBOX…

Well I have an extra regular focbox with a 12s4p laying around. I was thinking of using an angle grinder transmission since they are 90 degrees and 3:1 ratio. I could use an in runner motor with a water jacket. I think it would be pretty torquey just probably wont get super far lol

Get some sensorless motors and a pair of small paddle wheels and side mount them for a little paddle boat

I covered this in detail over at the Jason appreciation society

maytech has 300 amp waterproof ESCs now. And water proof remotes. And jet assemblies, and giant overpowered brushless inrunners… i mean they’re building water kits now. That’s probably the best route at the moment.

Thanks for the info I will look into it.

From what I’ve heard the smaller ones are only good for RC applications.

Lmao the text on the image really caught me off guard :joy:
