Pneumatic Wheel Compendium (Serious)

Ahh, just look for 6" or 150x50 tires/tubes on aliexpress. These hotas are quite good.

I am looking for a knobby 6x2, while digging through this thread and ali I could only find t

ali tires

People say they are wobbly…
Has anyone found the cure for offroading with 6x2?

These just aren’t knobby enough for what I think of offroading

offroading with 6x2 is going to be difficult just because they are so small. I have trouble with sandy patches even on knobby 8" tires.

Yeah I completely agree but it’s what I have to work with clearance wise

10 minutes into my first group ride in months… Why’s it always got to be a pulley wheel too! I know there are at least one or two wheels out there that don’t require a pulley removed to install a new tube/tire but I’m not remembering them… I searched but also nada. Anyone help me out here?

I think newbees new version of dm1s are able to do this.

I was just talking about that the other day. i used to run these and that was one of the things i appreciated most about em.

Exway has some quick release rims, and linnpower is working on some too.

So is newbee

Yeah, but I don’t run newbee gear drives.

Hoyt 7" rims dont require a pulley removal for a tire swap. As far as I understand, pretty much any wheel with a press-fit pulley will do what you’re asking, though press-fit pulleys are rare for pneumatic wheels.

The Hoyt 5in also do this

as do jump drives and my drives `:D

Ahh, I see it’s under a different name “REV1” and lists a diffrent drivetrain compatability. Hmm, I’d shoot him a message and see what the hole pattern is, and if it works with others.

Putting one of these in to test fitment and balance… they’d go very well on the Bro’s Step Bro as a street setup

New Linnpower slicks or SRB/BRP wheels?

Really wanted to run mads, but looks like I won’t have them for esk8con, and I need time to get adjusted. My xcells have been absolutely horrible for balance, so I need something decent.

Linnpowers charging almost $400 for a set, makes me think I might as well pay a bit more for srbs.

i mean, the linns just came out so no one’s got an opinion on it XD

you also don’t need their rims, sooooooo technically they’re 165 compared to, whatever the srbs cost (they’d also be compatible with more drivetrains than SRB)

that said, I just bought 2 sets of tires

I hope they have close to the same amount of grip as the SRBs ( have a feeling the SRBs will stay on top with that) without the skipping when they do slip

I know some people have had a chance to test them, but I guess I was hoping for a bit of theoretical discussion on which might be better for proformance to price.

I’ve got a few sets of extra wide rims, but ive found they usually don’t like these types of tires, unless the rim was made specifically for it. Without accurate dimensions, it’s going to be a gamble on which hubs work well with them.

Stooge has an adapter, which I think makes it pretty much compatible with most drives?

they mention the recommemnded hub dimensions, which are fairly standard measurements for wide hubs. (it’s as if they designed these wheels for esk8!)

some examples which should fit:
hubba huba
meepo cyclone hubs
xcell wide
maybe MBS alum

I actually bought two sets of press fit pulleys a couple of years ago before I realized they didn’t fit any of my axles and were pretty much only for dkp. I had forgotten about that option… A couple of extended mbs axles would definitely be cheaper too.
