What motors will you be using?
what range do you guys reckon i would get with 270wh battery and 8 inch tires? i can stretch it to 27km with 80mm wheels
Well that means you’re doing about 10wh/km ATM, with pneumatics it’s going to be double that at least. It really depends on the psi you’re going to pump the wheels at,
if you have a dual or a single motor setup, etc.
I wouldn’t expect much more than 10km. Also depends on how hard and fast you like to ride!
damn bruh i need a car battery for this bih
Stepping from 80mm wheels to 8 inch pneumatics is a big leap😂, i don’t know what you want your board for but you might get away with 6inch and pumping the wheels to high psi so you maximize range!
you think if i had a second battery i could combine them and make a 600wh ?
It doesn’t look to bad to me, but with high psi it’s going to be bumpy
There’s a world of possibilities out there
You can ride that (sort of) on 80mm thane. Just not fast, or for long unless you like numb feet.
Have you considered an in between option like (dare I say it) cloudwheels
Pneumies gonna be the best but battery hit. If you wanna keep a mid ground option a soft thane wheel thing could be the option (worst of all worlds)
It is not recommended combining different bateries as different cells haver different discharge profiles. Also, if you where to do this, you would have to precisely check that all cell voltages are the same, so you don’t get nasty amp inrush in the battery and fireworks
Edit: explain how you plan to combine the batteries. And also, how much range do you need?
i already have this kit being shipped to me so i cant get cloudwheels, and i dont think cloudwheels would be good enough on gravel roads, batteries are hella expensive tho so ill have to stick with it
Also not for long, because scraps of 'thane are going to be flying left and right as your wheels chunk in real time. Once I had a wheel chunk land on top of the deck and stay there.
I rode a short section of road like that (maybe 400metres) on my Venom magnum build, Achilles, a few weeks ago. It was not fast or enjoyable but it got me there.
I think we can all agree that if you want to have fun in a trail urethane it’s a no-go. My best suggestion to @zZoKo it’s to try range with the new drive train and high psi wheels, and if it isn’t enough, carefully study the pack combining option. While you save up for a new pack.
He never said he wanted to have fun
This kit looks fucking great, less than 100€ for that? I wanted to do an off-road build for the longest time but when I budgeted for it I wasn’t taking in account flipsky… It might be economically doable!
I mean… Ur right but unless he is looking to do a feet (and components) torturing setup, he might be better off walking
beware the shipping is almost as expensive as the kit and you need your own motors, otherwise it looks decent
