I am using a flipsky 4.20 dual Vesc, as well as a VX2 remote.
Problem is that after I did the setup wizard at Vesc tool, some voltage/current adjustments and finally tested the skateboard, at all three speed modes (High, medium ans Low) i get the same response/acceleration and top speed, as far as I know at Slow mode the top speed shouldn’t be more than 10 kmh(see video).
I’ve been struggling to fix this problem for a few hours, hope someone knows how to fix this.
I’m not familiar with the VX2, but don’t the “speed modes” actually control power and not speed? I thought they’d all reach nearly the same speed, but just do it more or less quickly.
Also, none of that would be evident unless there is a load on the drivetrain (aka: stand on it)
vx2+unity here, all speed mode eventually get you up to the top speed, just how long (far) it takes, acceleration will be the first thing u notice if u switch from HI mode to LO mode, it will feel like its not responsive, like there is a delay or deadband.
hey b264 and frame.b022, thank you for your comment
I see, do you recommend i make any changes on the response times or throttle curve for smoother start, cause now I have a feeling that id I get on my board it will launch me off.
OR
Do you suggest I test first and then adjust aettings(could you please recommend what type of settings I should play with to change response time)?
not sure if changing the ramp time will help, since i never did myself.
but if u keep it in the middle or low mode, it shouldn’t launch u off…although u will have to remember to change the mode each time u turn on the vx2, it doesn’t save the last mode u were using
Lower “Fault stop time” to 85ms though and “Duty Cycle Current Limit Start” to 85% in the motor advanced tab. Keep all the other defaults as they are good, and set that way for reasons.
Speed modes on all flipshit remotes only limit/spread out the throttle range unfortunately. Full throttle on low mode means about half the total power on 100% of the thumb wheel travel distance
if u don’t care about setting / config customization ability, then the latest hobbywing esc (the one that is currently in wowgo knight / wowgo at2 / backfire ranger x3) will have what u r looking for, all speed mode have its limited top speed, acceleration, brake strength…
from my noob experience with vesc tool, i don’t know if this type of config is possible, if there is, then i haven’t gotten to that part yet
