One Motor Moves with Remote

Remote only controlling one side. Had this on my other board and enabling all the CAN channels sorted it. Using VESC app I can move both motors.

Focbox unity with Voyager V2 remote. All on 6.05.

Tried re uploading firmware, updating lisp scripts on the Voyager, re doing config.

Does running the motor detection show both motors?

I run the same ESC with the Android app and always have to select “Local” for the CAN connection before running detection. Both motors will usually spin during detection, but I only get results for one.

Yeah both motors show up and read correctly.

Did you load default values and re apply settings with the last motor detection?

I would imagine there is some setting like the “Multiple VESCs Over Can” in VESC Remote settings that would be controlling that.

Tried multiple times
Both on PC and Android App. Wondering if maybe the ‘second half’ of the VESC is buggered…? Just weird that it works without the remote though on both sides…

Right. Tested on another Focbox Unity and using this remote does the same thing. Only controls one wheel.

Is the app control mode the same for both motors?

Eg. both motors are set to uart control

Must run wizard, then both move. If you do one side at a time, only one moves.

Yeah both set to UART. Both spin fine when running the FOC Motor Setup wizard.

Put my Hoyt Puck on it and it works flawlessly witb PPM on the Puck.

I might just buy some more Hoyt Pucks… They just work :sweat_smile:

How odd! At least you know its not the esc.

Mboards still had both the first and second versions of the puck in stock.

Yeah, check settings in uart and VESC remote. Maybe move receiver to other side if that’s an option. Try setting the master side to uart and other one to off and check the can status in the app too. If the app moves both, you should be good unless something goofy is shorted.

VESC app moves both. Tried the BKB Voyager V2 remote on a Flipsky dual ESC and the same thing happens… It only controls one motor

Did you mess with the app settings? Flipsky VESC needs both vescs to have uart selected and can 1234

UART and Can messages all checked :person_shrugging:
