Pulled my board apart tonight and noticed my chains seem a tad rusty.
@Andy87 any advice? Was thinking of a wire brush and re-lubing it. I’ve been lazy with applying lube since I lost my old toothbrush.

Spray with wd40.
Let set for a few mins (5ish)
Soft Wire brush / toothbrush
Wipe clean with clean dry rag
Re lube.

What do you think about CorrosionX (HD)? I used it on my bicycle chain before. I don’t know how good of a lubricant it is, but I guess it’s at least fine and the excellent corrosion prevention properties are undisputed.

Find a local Maker Space and do it there? Not sure where you live and what the area is like, but industrial district based companies may be OK with you renting a small 10X10 spot of floor space for a few hours. Rent a Storage Garage with power for a week or two.

Is there anyone else using Metric roller chains in the USA? Can always get one from Overion or Etoxx but importing a simple sprocket seems irrational.

When I was looking at 06B chains, I found that RS Components had a pretty good offering.
It’s not too hard to drill your own set screws holes if you have a drill press and the right quality bits.
Guy here does Kevlar belts on his bike n they last forever. Fixed gear. I don’t understand how people are breaking belts on their eboard. Maybe they’re not getting Kevlar belts. There’s some fancy Kevlar belts n cogs with strange profiles out there I never see on a board.
Chains are simple. If doing a chain worth getting g burly 1/8” n with the torque being way more than a bike n bike chains sometimes snapping seems appropriate. Track or bmx size.
