Plus if your hub has separate spokes, you could do the rims in one colour combo and the spokes in another to mix it up a bit, just by hitting different sections of the film.

Yep exactly. Hopefully it isnât $300 for a set of 4 skateboard hubs.
Are your hubs aluminum or plastic?
Nylon currently
Damn. If it was aluminum I could do the pic I posted. The powder is pretty cheap like $20
I figured as much. Everyone else in this thread is after the same effect though so you could be of service to a lot of people. I appreciate you speaking up regardless man. Good on you.
Im going to be doing some powder coating as soon as I get around to it. I might just order that powder and give it a try.
Holographic hydrographics arent really developed yet, most of the ones you see are static images and already possible with your own basecoats.
Perhaps i should start customising mbs and trampa stuff too, might look pretty cool.
Did you not watch the video in My posted link, it exists
Its in such early stages, I donât think it will turn out the way you want it to. It likely wonât stretch around the contours of the wheel properly, and might not be that durable. Its also likely not going to have deep colour changes like a more expensive chameleon paint would, in anything but studio lights the effect may be invisible.
Its cheap enough to try it out though. Iâm not in the US but if someone who is wants to give it a go then looks like it has potential
To achieve a true oil slick effect, youâd need time and a really fine/small sprayer like an airbrush but one that can take flaked paints.
If you do your anodisation yourself, it is pretty simple I like it too!
Never think about it before ! Thx for sharing ^^
Got tips for this? Is it just electro plating in water ?
Overion make a simple tutorial for noob that I share on esk8fr, I try it and works well, here you just have to soak your peace in 2 different color, its really as simple as standard color anodising.
The hardest part I have found in the electroplating and anodizing world is the vapor finish for special finishes.
That article actually translated pretty well
While they are super expensive, I think the paints would work quite well. Hereâs my first test on a remote casing:
There are a couple of colours on there, I only bought 3 because in cans theyâre super expensive. The colour changing is really good though, and you can see the blue, yellow, green and purple. With an airbrush im sure you could contour the edges more accurately than my spray job.
Does that have a gloss clear coat on top yet?
