Noticed quicker acceleration while holding water bottle?

It’s symbolic of my girlfriend having producing those AI images, and her having a similar hairstyle to the pictured women

and in every picture, the character on the board is

leaning :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

So basically this guy thinks that we’re all having tons of trouble not doing wheelies?

Nobody on esk8 is saying “damn I could accelerate quicker if it wasn’t for all the wheelies”

No esk8 tire has the grip necessary to do a wheelie.

This is definitely a solution looking for a problem

If you have enough grip to peak at 1 g, you have enough grip to average 1g…

But still, no one’s doing wheelies.

Your solution still doesn’t have a problem to solve.

The issue is the rider is backing off the throttle because they dont want to lean at sustained 45 degrees to sustain 1g, for whatever reason.

Why are you so certain? You haven’t even ridden an esk8 in how long?

If your tires have enough grip for 1g peak, the only other explanation I can imagine besides rider backing off the throttle because they dont want to lean at sustained 45 degrees for sustained 1g is they have their battery current limit less than the motor current limit, which will make the available thrust and torque decrease at the higher rpms.

So why does it happen when you kickpush then? If what you’re saying is right, then without the wheelie issue a bottle shouldn’t do anything.

leaning at 45 degrees is not even close to the list of reasons

tell me you haven’t ridden an esk8 without telling me you haven’t ridden an esk8

If your battery current limit and motor current limit is set to the same value, then you’ll have the same available thrust nearly all the way up to no load rpm.

If the battery current limit is less than motor current limit, thrust will taper down at higher speeds.

So your title should have been:

Noticed I don’t do wheelies on launch when holding a water bottle in front of me

So you agree two boards that are not capable of 1g acceleration would end up in a tie* if they drag raced? One with the bottle and one without?

Assuming sufficient available thrust at all speeds and grip, then the acceleration is limited by the angle between the rear contact patch and the position of the center of mass. If you’re unwilling for whatever reason to lean past a certain angle you can get that angle greater from vertical by increasing overall mass and putting that added mass farther forward ahead of the rear tires.

So your answer is “yes they will tie, as long as both riders try their best to stay on the board” ?

what makes you think all of us don’t want to lean?

Because he tried an esk8 once and it flew out from underneath him. He hasn’t ever recovered emotionally.

I think if you lean past a certain angle, might not be able get upright again is one possiblity

So, they’d tie @ross_forp ?

Or are you gonna move the goalposts again?
