Antisink Plate
@Titoxd1000 graciously gifted me an antisink plate to cover the ugly taped bushing hole in the rear
While I had the truck off, I made the hole… less shoddy. Using a Dremel like a router with a single-flute milling bit.
Then, in favorite technique for covering up bad workmanship, I went to town with a black sharpie.
Mint
My old bolts bolts aren’t long enough anymore, replacements are on order, and should arrive in a few days.
Sticker
Replaced the tape covering the LACROIX on the deck with an appropriate sticker
Tryhard USB
I’ve always wanted vesc USB access without taking off the enclosure, but never got around to doing it. Today’s the day.
The biggest problem is clearance between the D100 and the bottom of the deck. It’s so tight that even most right-angle USB cables would be too bulky.
I bought this ribbon USB cable for it’s super low profile micro USB connector
However, it clashes with the CAN connector for the MEGAN.
(additionally, it’s hard (impossible) to mount the USB-A to the outside of the enclosure)
So this is in the realm of making my own cable.
I bought some inexpensive panel mount USB C connectors off Aliexpress
soldered on 26awg wire to the backside of the micro USB, very carefully cut down the micro USB PCB with a Dremel, and covered in hotglue.
Pretty proud of the finished result
Size comparison vs a typical microUSB cable
Drilled some holes in the enclosure, and I’ve got a USB port ![]()
3D printed a TPU cover to keep dirt out
So much work for such a little unassuming USB port ![]()
