Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

truck profile is probably different so the motor mount might not fit

In other applications when you stuff cables in a box it’s good for finding the connector with out removing every thing. Thay made for the RC toy industry more than e sk8

To be clear I don’t like the orange, only the yellow. :relaxed:

What is the specific name/model of the jst connectors used for motor sensors? I’ve seen that tb dd use a small one, but 99% of motors use a bigger one. Also what awg should the cables be?

JST PH 2.0 standard

makerX uses JST PH 1.25 tho iirc

i think Dex already said he updated the TBDD to have PH 2.0, but i don’t know

with my charge port whenever i plug in i get a small pop from it
how can i stop this? using a xt60 and fused

Not the proper method but i would make a xt60 to xt90 adapter

and put a xt90s on the charger.

You plug the adapter into your xt60 chargeport and then connect the xt90s into the xt90 from the adapter.

First thing that came to mind :man_shrugging:t2:

thing is xt90 is huge and i dont have enough enclosure space. how come i dont get this on barrel chargers or anything?
and more adapters just mean more enclosure space being taken up

nope.

you have a xt60 looking outside your enclosure correct? Thats where your charger connects to. Instead of directly connecting the charger you build a xt60-xt90 adapter for the outside.

Enclosure - xt60 Chargeport - [xt60 - xt90] - xt90s - charger

is the adapter.

oh i get you thanks
i assumed you meant do that but inside the enclosure

k seems like a good idea but still wondering why it happens on this xt60 but not on barrel ones

Probably has a deeper reason.

Hey guys, I remember reading somewhere that for the motor phase wires, each wire only carries 1/3 of the total motor current.

So if you are running 75 motor amps, each wire only carries 25 amps.

Is this true?

That happened to me awhile back. My battery wouldn’t charge since the balance cable wasn’t plugged in all the way lol

Stop plugging in the board side last.
So first connect board, then connect charger to mains.

No apparently according to @b264 it’s roughly 66%

Ah nice will try that to

That also happens to me with barrel.
I learned that if I turn on the charger first before connecting to the board it stops doing that.
This is opposed to what minimadness suggested but it works for me.

happened both ways for me
will prob just use @xsynatic method
