Change the controller and see what happens leaving everything else the same
hmm if only I had a spare VESC I could trust.
Iāve got an FSESC 6.6 that refuses to see itās internal CANBUS connection even after contacting them for support
Iāve got another FSESC 6.6 plus that died on me mid-ride, not inclined to trust that one.
Iāve got a Boundmotor ESC that works fine, but the remote battery puffed up and when I tried to replace it, I went through 3 remote batteries and couldnāt get any of them to charge off of USB (and the remote wouldnāt turn on) and idk what I fucked up there.
Oh, I guess I could rip the DV6 out of my current main ride. I was planning to try that as a last resort, but my first resorts have all turned to dust before my eyes.
the Boundmotor VESC doesnāt have a UART or PPM plug, it uses an integrated receiver.
youāre right though I can just use it for testing and use keyb control
itās not sold by Boundmotor anymore, Iāll pair a photo to this post in a few minutes, but the only proof I have that itās a VESC is that it works flawlessly with VESCtool, and the remote can be mapped and the curve adjusted and everything. based on 4.12.
(edited a few posts because I confused 2 brands)
Tenka is just a Unity with some features removed, and itās based on Vesc 4 HW rather than 6, so yeah ā that makes it old tech
Thatās my best guess as well currently.
You can at least use it to test that your motors are fine / the programming steps youāre going through actually work. Cuz if it works just fine, then yeah, Tenka is at fault
piece of shit MassiveStator should be shut down. idfk how people get any kind of good experience from them.
Honestly, I donāt know anybody who has read up on eskate that is still ordering from him.
Can I ask why you choose to support Jason although quality has never been one of his keywords on the forum?
- I bought it shortly before giving in to the big scary forum and joining ESN (never been a forum user before esk8)
1.b. at the time I didnāt know it was JayPo behind MS

Cheap and not Flipsky, that was my reasoning when spending the dosh.

A crazy amount of social media ads probably had something to do with it.
And wtf do you have against flexy decks? For thane builds theyāre great.
update: so Iām now using a DV6 in it, hall sensors are basically off the table at this point but itās been promising in sensorless non-HFI. you have to push off with your foot to get it started and the brakes are a bit weak but much better than with the trash tenka.
now I just need to get the right sensorless settings dialed in for these trash evolve motorsā¦
man working with such low quality parts reminds me of why I got into DIY in the first place.
