Buuuuut have you looked into it?

Most probably don’t believe that, they just want to be cool and different so they pretend to believe something solely because it’s unpopular. Like little babies screaming because they want attention.

There’s people who really believe all kinds of crazy stuff these days. Or is it they always believed crazy irrational stuff but it was just religion before

What I read…
 (In your nerdiest, nasaliest, condescendingest voice) :face_with_monocle:

Achem, you know that very real thing that many satisfied, very real people have spent real money to buy, some of which are likely riding on real roads right now? Yeah, that very real thing that actually exists and functions very effectively in real life, for real racers, going really fast, really frequently??

Well, my sad, misinformed friends :face_exhaling:, allow me to attempt to incoherently prove to you all on paper, why you are all WRONG, and that this thing that really exists for the sole purpose of doing what it does exceptionally well in real life, is in fact IMPOSSIBLE. As someone who prides myself on actually existing, I am so absolutely and entirely certain that this thing can’t possibly exist AND work the way that it does, that I am going to completely avoid the most obvious and simple demonstration of this actually working, by examining a real one doing what it really does in real life, and prove to you, my dear gullible readers :face_exhaling:, that I have no real idea how these things work and I’m too dense to figure it out.

So, in conclusion, being impossible, the answer must be loose tolerance voodoo black magic. Miss Moe is probably a witch. :man_shrugging:

Science, BITCHES!!
I’m out.

Jack, trying to be an asshole to someone who only tries to help others.

As long as it makes you feel good, then that’s all that matters :kissing_heart:

I think you hit the andrew reply button.

I expect an original response to my joke!

You’re right. I think we both hit the Andrew button by mistake.

Well, I was prompted to get my 3-links out an play around with them.

And I’ve just spent the evening making a video.

I think I’ve made an interesting exploration, but I’m still a ways off from making a full and concise explanation of the 3 link mechanism.

LINK PLS!

Somewhat unrelated note on my push board I was using 84A bushings on Cal III trucks. Loosest kingpin I could avoid wheelbite with. Hopped on the board yesterday and the front truck fell off. I let the kingpin nut and rs bushing just fuck off and continued riding due to it usually being so loose.

The SRB NKP trucks are impervious to this flaw.

FTW!

thank you!

brilliant moments, for those who don’t watch far enough in.

  • 14:21 spherical joint is rotating.
  • compare 0:31 to 15:38 visualize precision.
  • paths of travel
    • 4:56 path constrained by first link only
    • 5:48 path constrained by second link only.
    • 6:56 intersection of two constrained paths.

Awesome video. I simulated the 3 links in CAD and also found the axle path to be a straight line, unless the linkages were made so short that the axle actually rotates as the truck turns which produces that S shape travel but only slightly
