I like the idea definitely. You should probably carry discussion over to Your GB Remote thread however
I mean presumably you have a remote in your hand so you could just brake instead and save the soles of your shoes.
I imagine in the same way that it detects pushing? Just a significant change in the erpm over X time ![]()
I want it nowwww daddy
Lol i think that is
patina![]()
Interesting pattern it creates.
Yep that’s definitely just patina from road grime and stuff. Kinda cool actually
The grip tape material is pretty cool. Sort of like a rubbery bedliner type stuff
Sounds ideal for barefoot ![]()
What a really fun little board. Obviously the deck is short - about shoulder width standing platform - but it feels appropriate for this board. I never felt like I wished it was wider when I had it out today. I took it for about a 7 mi bike path ride. Average speed probably 12-15mph- I never really felt like pushing faster because it’s a lot of fun cruising at lower speeds on the Echo. I tightened the rear truck 1 turn and front 1/2 a turn and never touched it again. I rode primarily in full electric mode, however I did use the push assist for a bit. I would have used it more but admittedly my pushing form is horrible, so that’s a skill issue I need to improve on. I push mongo, and need to either learn to push traditionally or work on riding goofy. Either way, in regular E+ mode it felt excellent. Lots of acorns falling on the bike path I was on and I never had any issues jamming up wheels… they’re big and soft enough to smash em or pop them out of the way.
Plus it’s small enough that it just fits in my frunk ![]()
Apart from looking like a weirdo, i don’t know if there’s anything inherently wrong with riding mongo… don’t beat yourself up on it, plenty of others will do that for you!
It’s more just about overall stability while pushing. All your weight is over the back truck so it makes the front end prone to getting squirrelly, especially at speed if the assist is pushing you along. I’ll try and learn one of the better ways and see how it works out
I no longer judge…
Esk8 has kinda made me push mongo…
I get in my boards the mongo way more often than not…
Maybe has something to do with my other knee having done the getting onto into a board so many freaking times…
you can have push to assist on all vescs now with my system: feature: add assistive push · georgebenett/gb_remote@8f15825 · GitHub
its torque based so its pretty smooth and nice, the user can set 2 parameters, decay time and assistance strength, what else can you ask for?
Ok, in a moment of weakness i put one in my cart with the palm remote, my bank thought it was so off brand that they killed all my cards and put a hold on my account until Monday ![]()
Yeah the last thing I need is another board but the DKWAN discount sucked me in. Card threw a warning and declined but I was able to approve it and got it through the second time. Now I have to wait a month and hope snow doesn’t start flying before the board arrives.
My only complaint is I wish early adopters got the little board stand metal bracket thing thrown in with the purchase. They didn’t have individual parts listed for purchase at the time but the little stand bracket is $15 and the lesser expensive shipping option is 3-4 weeks
Might just end up designing one for 3DP
