If I knew the deck was used and trashed I wouldnât have bought at 800 bucks⌠listed as new⌠I donât buy used decks⌠I would be willing to take the kaly 2.0 or something he has of value.
I donât care anymore about anything let it be clear smear my name fuck it do I give a fuck anymore no Iâll pay him back donât get me wrong but do I care if yall hate me or whatever no I donât heâs getting fully refunded over time as I can thatâs it
I think the focus should be fixing the issue not your reputation. Canât a post be deleted at anytime? Arenât there new users coming to the forum all the time looking to buy stuff from users with good customer service? After a refund, I wouldnât have anything negative to say. It could still be an honest mistake.
TBF itâs not used, itâs just not ânewâ either. You can guarantee youâll be the first person to ever ride that deck.
If it was me buying the deck, Iâd just ask for $200 back and move on. The inserts are a disappointing find, but those will get covered up by the enclosure anyway.
Anyway, @hoytkid good on you for taking steps in making it right. Cheers
Good god how does stuff devolve so fast
@Dsk8 what are you willing to accept to make you whole? Do you need the $800 or would you accept a partial refund?
[yes or no, $ amount]
@hoytkid how long would it take you to get $800? Cancel purchase parts, sell off other stuff, maybe find a buyer for the deck
[# of days]
The fire will burn out if you stop adding fuel, this isnât the first time and it probably isnât the last
Ok thanks but I donât validation from you or anybody or a congrats because itâs the right thing to do I value my mental health more than stressing out about some shit that happened honestly
Yeah this was my main thought behind the question.
I agree, I personally wouldnât buy a used deck for a build so I was curious if a partial refund was even an option for you. Sorry about your encounter. The battery for my first build here tried to self ignite and getting a refund was pulling teeth. Had to call them out here to get a solution and was surprised to see others with similar stories.
@hoytkid 10 deep breaths homie. Your rep isnât destroyed, no one hates you. You had a great rep as OP said himself before this one thread, remember that. Youâre showing your face here, replying honestly and with good intent. Chin up brother.
Yup. He probably should have asked for pics of the underside / inserts etc. Buyer beware.
But you should have also posted that info.
You are both at some fault.
Yea man Iâm trying but at this moment I donât belief that Iâll be able to recover from this so I rather just make it right and not think of recovering from it cause my minds just in a place of I wonât recover
Is agree I should have posted it but that post was from a while back and I completely didnât even think of it when he contacted me to buy it it was seamless not much questions so I thought he knew what he was buying still my bad for not showing the bottom still my fault thatâs all
@Venom121212 its for a customer. And honestly your battery story helped put things in perspective for me. I donât have any personal issue with @hoytkid. The economy is horrible for a lot of people. I told him I would potentially consider a trade to help lighten the burden.
Holy smokes this is a hot thread.
My bad on those inserts, they should be completely solid and JB welded in. The problem and the reason they look blown out is because I used the wrong kind of drill bit for the kind of wood and finish that is on that deck. Pretty sure the enclosure covers up all the damage though.
I havnt read the entirety of the thread so forgive me if I am stepping on anyoneâs toes
Yes, feelings aside, selling something like this as new is disingenuous. Regardless of how people feel about the posting and scam terminology, this omission on a â newâ deck is not acceptable.
I would want to know this information. Any suggestions that not asking for more pictures makes the buyer at all at fault is incredible bullshit. We expect better from each other here, do we not?
I screwed up a sale on here and lost my ass trying to make it right. The members name I donât remember. He was mad ( I sent a board that worked when I tested, but a wire came loose in transit) he cursed at me ,called me scammer etc ( privately) and I took it because I was wrong and my reputation was important to me.
To the seller, itâs done now, Iâd stop commenting about it. Nothing you can say is going to help now, you said your peace, donât dig the hole deeper.Perhaps send some part you have on hand as a peace offering? IDK good luck to both sides.
My opinion is just that as a member.
At sellerâs cost, I would hope.
