Let’s just put this here for everyone (my inbox is getting a bit full of discord requests)
If you are a current customer, just join the discord server, DM @TonyLai over there, and he’ll add you to the customer list to get access to support and order updates
Thanks
still just working and getting orders out as far as we know
@Aperrot: Unfortunately not and the shop if offline at the moment. I guess FM is striking back and they have some problems.
For those who are wondering the kV is about 21 and the no weight rpm is 1044 (onewheel xr is about 1020). I don’t actually have the motor I just did the math
50km/h no weight speed = 31.06mph
31.06mph = ~32800 inch per minute
10 inch diameter wheel = 31.42 circumference
32800 / 31.42 = ~ 1044 rpm
1044 / 50 volt = 20.88 kv
Got a math equation to figure out the number of pole pairs?
no.
Somebody w/ a motor can turn it and count the phase or hall pulses.
Site is back up, as expected
Can I get an invite to the discord?
I purchased the whole kit about two weeks ago and I got the frame and controller in so far. I couldn’t wait and assembled it as much as I can without the wheel and battery. I am also planning on making it as water-resistant as I possibly can with conformal coating, silicone sealant, and dielectric grease.
It is literally posted few messages up…
As for assembling your kit in advance, hope you didn’t screw tight. Hub is installed before assembling the compartments
I finally have the means to acquire crypto currencies, but now another question came up.
Since I have to buy the Bitcoin in advance, how much more do I need to buy to account for transaction fees and potential fluctuations in the worth of the coin? I went through and signed up for coinbase, so that’s what I’m using.
Also is there a “prefered” crypto currency? Or should I just stick to Bitcoin?
If you have to wait for your funds to clear, you can buy USD coin, which won’t fluctuate like BTC. Then when your funds are all cleared, you can transfer them to BTC and then pay immediately. I believe there may be more fees involved this way.
Thanks, the last discord link I saw on here didn’t work. I didn’t see the one you mentioned beforehand.
Yea, I understand the hub will require me to remove a rail. I used it as practice of seeing where all the parts go, make sure I have all the parts, and to check for tolerances with the bumpers on for possible ingress points of water that may need to be addressed in some way. It is not like I am planning to ride in the rain I just want to pre-emptively protect it from water damage and corrosion that could have been prevented with a little prep.
My link is permanent and doesn’t have an expiration
This was not on floatwheel’s to do list. I’d recommend that if you see a puddle, abandon ship
Finally!!!
I hate all that cryptocurrency bs but I finally managed to place my order.
But rather this than giving FM 2000€ for an un- user serviceable and locked down like an iPhone device.
