All tires can be tubeless with some expanding foam

Lol, I’ve seriously thought about that.

Os there a foam thay wpuld hold up long term? Like the flat emergency shit in a can? Or another kind altogether

No idea. But I have thought about trying to cut up some sort of high density foam to be inserted into the wheel. Kind of like Cushcore for MTB, but for small Esk8 wheels.

Most foam breaks down when wet, some heavy machinery uses foam but it has to be replaced on occasion. You can buy flat tire kits that hook up to the valve stem which will probably work fine if you fill a tube with it

Yes yes the real question insuppose is for how long and how well, yk? Lol guessing its time for some sciences

A guy I worked with once used a ā€œGet me home foamā€ to repair a puncture on his car tire and I’m pretty sure he was still using a year later.
Have you had a look a tire mousses, usually a dirt bike thing.

Anyone out there run both these and the meepo 165’s? Do the bkbs grip as well as the meepos?

No, but they last much longer and have significantly more tread, the BKBs have a very aggressive tread pattern compared to the meepos which is just a couple of small lines.

The more grooves you and sipes you have in the tread generally the worse it will grip on pavement, the BKBs have a lot but they still have a good amount of grip for street riding and will have better traction on dirt than the meepos and feel better on wet grounds.

My meepos also had horrible imbalance but I seem to be the only person who had this problem.

Tldr; I like these more than the meepos, they last a super long time, they are really cheap, and the grip is good enough.

Just make sure you take out any yellow tape from the inside of your BKB tires.

Bummer, the meepos have been my go to for a while now but definitely looking for more traction.

I have both, I haven’t pushed the Meepos as long yet. But can definitely say when the BKBs were running they griiiiip for days. They’re soft too so if you carve hard the tread pattern will wear down quickly (for more grip). Just couldn’t stop killing tubes.

Im wondering if this would just be pushing the puncture problem to the tires. If the tube was punctured then so was the tire? So what was gained besides avoiding pinch flats? What am I missing? Does slime work a lot better on a tubeless system?

Oh I’m not running Meepo tubeless but the other Meepo tires. I’m pretty certain the problem was inside the tire that was causing flats. Didn’t run slime since others @ARCTIC said it caused an imbalance at higher speeds. I just have up on the tires personally.

I found the yellow tape inside some of my tires also. But I also got several flats with tires that had no yellow tape. All flats were on original tubes. I still haven’t been able to identify the main cause clearly. Photos for reference in case anyone can identify cause of the flats.

Same exact kind of holes I was getting, never solved it

i have flats that look like this also. Its not my main problem, but i knew what i was looking at the second i saw the pic.
IMHO tubes for this application need to be thicker. It is a critical part. I am not sure about tubelss either. Im not sure because it sounds like a pain in the ass and i hate change. How am i seating the bead? Because if its not easy ill be using the flame method and im sure that will end badly .

does slime have any value and or drawbacks ? In many of my flats it would not have worked and made a mess and further expence. I dont patch tubes unless i have to,ivr done my time on a MTB, im done with patches, fuck them

all I know is armor-dilloz is pissed you haven’t bought any from them. /s (recently they complained about the market flooding with lower quality product)

I have used tubeless tires in mountain biking, and seating the bead is not an issue. You can use a regular floor pump. The interface between the lip and rim is tight enough that a couple quick pumps will seal everything up. You’ll likely need to use a few ounces of latex sealant or slime if you want good puncture healing. I’m optimistic for tubeless - I hate inner tubes.

After riding the Meepo tubeless tires, tubeless is the future for sure.

I have been using Flatout with good success. Available on Amazon.

High volume floor pump for mountain bike tires should work just fine. If you have a compressor, even better.

What’s the biggest difference you notice while riding?
