I agree with what others have said, hubs, smaller battery and maybe something like the makerx dual v4.
Not sure how the nese modules work, but 2p just sounds underwhelming. Maybe a better option would be like a 6s or 8s 4p. This would limit speed via hardware in case the young fella got wise and decided to go balls out on 12s.
