I think it would be very hacky. Doesn’t sound well designed.
Yeah, I agree. I don’t really like that idea. It would still make the design a whole lot thinner.
Thinnest option i can think of is cutting 2 discs, say 8-10mm in diameter connected by chosen rating fuse link. This could then be foldwd in half with dialectric in the middle. Could be as thin as 1mm with .2mm nickel and .6mm dialectric.
You need fiber laser or waterjet cutter for that. Could be very cheap but still cumbersome to install.
