Vendors should pay attention there is a huge market on mid price esc $150-250 range. Sometimes, I scratch my head when people says $200 dollars esc is cheapšŸ˜‚

Iā€™m in the same situation as you. Building a dual drive board for my little brother; thinking 10s, small low KV motors, 30A per sideā€¦ but what reliable vesc is there? The esk8supply one doesnā€™t allow you to use custom remotes, and HW4 based ESCs arenā€™t the best on low KV motorsā€¦ Am I really going to have to spend $350+ just on the ESC for this cheap build?

Cheap Focerā€™s dude for any build that needs to pull less that 35A continues its hard to beat. And you can get like 4 for the price of an esk8 supply one.

Also it seems like 4.12 hardware has turned into a bit of a boogy man around here. Yes thereā€™s lots of shit 4.12 implementations but a solid direct FET 4.12 board have been run at 13s and 50 battery Amps for thousands of Km without issues. But ofc itā€™s all dependant on who made it and how well it was made!

just dropping this here

I didnā€™t get what the big deal with vesc 4 vs 6 was either till I paired one of my focboxes with a 150kv motor ā€“ the power loss at 80% is something that could throw you off if you were accelerating faster / had even lower kv motors. I wonā€™t settle for BLDC, so a reliable V6 controller is what Iā€™m after.

Theyā€™re $120 each iirc which is excellent for a vesc 6 based controller, the waiting is unbearable though

If thatā€™s true then 2 of these + an antispark would be cheaper than a 60D. Iā€™m hoping thatā€™s true

Iā€™ve got esk8 supplyā€™s dual vesc. Comes with remote and everything. Itā€™s all yours for free if you pay shipping
@Oddcomo

Hereā€™s my review of it

Dexter doesnā€™t like giving me any love so Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s $120 :joy:

120 would be a fucking good deal, hopefully they can do 60A comfortably

thatā€™s cheaper than flipsky damn

I have a flipsky dual 6.6 not plus. Itā€™s running on 12s with about 60A total max on my Trampa off-road.
So far Iā€™ve been happy with it. No trouble over about 400km at least :slightly_smiling_face:

Teaser! When this going to be available?

10s 1p with a flipsky dual 6. 6 here as well and rode about 200km. Soon upgrading to 12s so hopefully it continues to performā€¦ Maybe lucky as there seems to be plenty of reviews that have problems

Flipsky can work but these vescs are just cheap, some have problems others dont. Just save yourself the headache. You only have 8s4p that will sag voltage if you want to go 60-80 and 105-130 peak you will upgrade that pack later for sure  its always the sameā€¦

From what I can tell you ive learned over the years, dont buy cheap vescs, buy cheap deck, wheels dunno but dont buy cheap vescs, its the brain of your system, if something fails that goes bad!

Go with some original vesc6 or the unity but I dont like the idea of dual escs on one PCB. If one side breaks and is not repairable you cant just switch it out. Also there are some good based vesc6 vescs. The new 60D stuff looks nice but this is just starting.

Thanks for the advice!! @Jujo is giving me his esk8 supply vesc, and Iā€™m thinking that I will go with that until I have enough money saved for a 10s 3-4p and a high performance vesc like the 60d or dual TB. When I get myself that, I can give away to the community the other vesc and keep helping people  I really want to have my board up and running so thatā€™s why it really hurts to wait for the 60d and the TB to come out and expend extra money.

nice yeah!

do you have pictures of the build so far?

Thatā€™s extremely cool, and should be a great option for now. Also love the idea of passing it on when the time comes.
