My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

So now I have a bunch, and I mean a bunch of work to do to shuffle parts around.

I got a set of 55/11 NeeBee drives I got for a deal coming.
They will go on the Flux Along with the 190kv Flipsky motors that are on the Khymera.

The 151kv SKP motors will go on the Khymera where I can mess with the gearing.

And I will see what I end up doing with the Gravel Boi, because it may also end up getting NewBee 55/11 if I end up having all the parts.

I am still about to build a 12s2p for the Omakase and a 12s3p for the Demonseed.

So yeah.
I have plenty to keep me occupied without even needing to dream about 3 Links, and high voltage, and a Vesc Onewheel…

I think that makes it a funwheel

Just chiming in to say I really enjoy reading this thread. It’s like keeping up with a show on Discovery Channel or History that you really like, but only about stuff that really interests you. All your boards are different in some way and it’s really cool. That’s all :call_me_hand:t2:

It’s in my top 10, that’s for sure. Maybe even skimming the top 5 threads… and definitely the top non-reference thread.

Samezies. This thread embodies the highs/lows of DIY more than any other on this forum. And for that reason, I find this thread to always be a relaxing read.

If I could paraphrase @rafaelinmissouri, it’s usually “aweshit I broke a thing AGAIN”. Then later after it’s been fixed/upgraded, it’s usually “now all is right in the world and everything was worth it”. Then repeat over and over

And on we go.

Cold as hell here today.
No riding. Not even Onewheeling…

So onto tinkering and doing the easy stuff for these batteries.

Yep.
There is always something…

One of the 48 p42as is testing at 3.47 vs 3.54-3.56 for the rest.
So I will ditch it and order a new one.

So a little hic up.
I was going to wrap up the p groups for both the 12s2p and the 12s3p… But I will put the 3p on hold until I get a new cell…

The kids “helped”

Actually my daughter cutting the tape was quite helpful…

And as I have said many times.

Diy is a disease…

I was grounded from riding the past couple days because it was just butt ass cold and miserable…

But today is sunny and we got all the way up to Freezing.

So I went out at lunch on the GT.

Did almost 10 miles which is big time for me on a Onewheel.

With it being so cold I thought the Onewheel might be a better vibe.

And it was a sweet ride. It did not feel too cold. And ended up feeling like good excersize

It was really nice enough I wanted to get on a board right after, but I gotta do some work.

I really dig the Onewheel vibes, but I almost always wish I could go faster.
And I think I ride in pushback pretty much the whole time…

One of these days I’ll get a Vesc going… I think cruising close to 25 would be pretty freaking cool.

In the mean time I can get the zoomies going on the Boards.

One thing is for sure, the Onewheel will never beat the magic of carving and accelerating really hard uphill on a board. Which is one of my favorite feelings.

Something cool happened today.

A while back one of the Dad’s at school pick up was shocked by seeing me pull up and started asking me about the Gravel Flux.

Then a week later he had told me he was looking at boards a bunch on YouTube.

And today he told me he ordered one!!!

He is getting the Acedeck NYX Z1 which is quite the send for a first timer!!!

Be careful with that; you’re one pebble away from a faceplant.

You’ll have to hook him up with your plans for your kid towing rig!

It it really nice today. Sunny. A little bit above freezing.

I did 16 miles at lunch on the Gravel Flux and even rode some with Benji.

It’s great to go out and catch some sunshine and some views.

I have the Crush and the Demonseed charging so I can go get a little bit of thane action later.

Well, shit!
I did it again…

I tipped the trailer over with a kid in it.

It was the 3 year old’s turn.

He seems ok. Thankfully.

It must be a right of passage for my kids.

I was hot dogging…
Riding around in circles in the parking lot because the kids were not out yet.

I might have even been showing off for some moms that were 5 feet away when it happened.

But yeah.
The towing feels so fluid, that I forget I have a trailer back there.

So I turned too hard and fast.
The trailer goes on one wheel and tips over to the side.

Somehow l jumped off the board and danced it off…

Little dude cryed for a bit and was quite scared. And he even has a little goose egg now… But he seems fine.

After work I went out on the Crush, and then the Demonseed, and the Gravel Flux again.

If you look closer here you can see a couple deer.

About 200 yards down the path I had to slam on my breaks because a bunch of deer were running across…

I really appreciate how the signal of the Z-motes has been perfect for me.

But I am also stoked on how they look.
