My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

I gotta plug the hole that lets water in…

What would be good to use here?

Maybe silicone?

Or just be lazy and use Butyl tape

Also my box of extra Newbee parts did not come to the rescue. This generation drive uses larger bearings than the spare ones I had.

are the bearing sizes known?

Has anyone sourced these in the US?

In an old etoxx drive setup video i saw the person use suguru putty to create a seal. Never used it but might be worth a shot?

Soon there will be another GT2B.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to do this properly. For now, here’s what I can show and tell you. It uses 8 x normal M5 screws: 4 that attach the wedge to the truck (wedge holes are thru holes), then another 4 that attach that assembly to the deck (wedge holes threaded). Hopefully the exploded screen shot below will help make more sense of these words.

With respect to wheel base, de-wedging (decreasing angle) extends wheelbase. Wedging (increasing angle) shortens wheel base. I liked that option because in the first case both actions add stability, and in the second case both actions increase turning radius (decreasing stability). Note that when dewedging the truck is mounted in the “flipped” position.

Screen shot below is showing de-wedged example.

It’s 50 Degrees and sunny.

Way better than yesterday.

So I’m going to get out of the house for some lunch. Trying to decide what to take…

As a new reader of this thread, is there a list of all your boards with specs and names? Also curious (but understand it is nosy to be curious) about the total cost/value of your PEV collection.

The board of choice was the Ion drive V1 for big urethane vibes.

It was really pretty nice out. I was not miserably cold.

If I leave my house and take a right it’s a good hill. I can’t really go that way if I have a board fully charged.

It went up as much as 1 volt looks like…

I was rolling on some bricks and noticed tne board sounded especially chattery…

And sure enough I have gotten the Idea TB mounts loose once again…

I wonder if it is always the same side that gets loose.

There is not. That is a good project though.

I think I have been into this for 9 years and I really went off the rails. We have a pretty good mountain of debt to go with my pile of boards.

I really try hard not to think of the overall hole.

I expect I could have gotten a nice Harley or 2 by now.

I have bought relatively few pre built boards. The big purchases were the Onewheels and the EUC … I couldn’t piece those together.

A glimpse of the insanity though. Is I have spent 150bucks on just Butyl tape…

OOhh, do you have a link for that handle on the ION? I love it.

Dude. You will break this getting it out of the envelope…

I would have totally missed that.

Lmao, thank you bro!

Its cheap enough that I am willing to give it a go.

I actually like the design and look of it.

Pretty minimal.

But it’s pretty soft aluminum… I stepped on it and flattered it but was able to bend it back.

Today’s school pickup was on 2 wheels.

it is functional.

It sure beats driving the van.

But it does not hit the same as riding the Gravel Flux up there.

With the Gravel Flux I would get my carve on, even with the trailer loaded. And it feels like a little taste of a ride.

I just don’t vibe as much on the bike…

I need to get a trailer hitch going again. I took it out of the Gravel Flux when I upgraded to Matrix III and wanted to run an angled riser.

I want to make something nicer… but probably need to make something makeshift to enjoy the immediate nice days we have ahead

Totally, they did a good job with the design—much less generic than the others I’ve seen on Amazon. I can see that being an easy one to step on in that orientation.

I ended up mangling the crap out of the aluminum handle I got from the Bens SendCutSend service. It’s actually super impressive; I put a complete right angle on the metal and it still feels as solid as the day I got it.

I got 2 of Ben’s handles recently and put one on the Gravel Flux and I bent it down inspired by your board!!!

I want to wrap the whole thing in Tesa tape.

The sides are sharp.

The bike sure is good for picking up a single child.

Fun things from teacher conferences.
