My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

Dude. It is pretty hard. But it is my only hobby… I have a lot of open projects and fixing to do and batteries to build…
And now that it is spring I am trying to prioritize riding over tinkering… It is funny because sometimes I look forward to rainy days because I’m like… Oh I can build.
Today I am going to put the boardnamics hangers and mounts on the DB Coreflex and the Boas.
I also need to put the MBS back together…
My enclosure for the Haero is in Missouri now so soon I will get to jump on that.

I did some organizing of my little work bench so I am pretty stoked about that.
My father in law is making a nicer table top that will be coming soon too.

Did some updates to the DB Coreflex.

Put the Boardnamics 220 hangers with single clamps and mounts.
And the China Boas.

I really like how the clamps and mounts set up.
Nice stuff.

These are much bigger shoes…
But I wanted to try out the Boas.
I really liked this board with the Caguamas.
But I also wanted it to be able to roll over stuff more easily.
We will see what wheels are on there in a month…

I had to do a tiny bit of grinding of the axle per @Boardnamics recommendation.
Easy breezy.

Back full circle.
Today I got the Acton Blink.
The first esk8 I ever got…
Off eBay for 40 bucks…
Let’s see if I can breath some life into it so I can have a Penny board type of thing.

Adding a link to my write up on the Carver.

I got the Kaly enclosure today so what was the last piece of the puzzle… Just gotta put it together now…

I also got a new psychotiller Altar wedge enclosure in the mail today.

I am going to use that and the other 40t cells i have to upgrade the Demonseed.

The Demonseed is working fine with the 10s5p 30q pack but I think I will be happy to upgrade it to a 10s5p 40t pack.

And then I will out the old pack on the Rayne Cartoon that is out of commission at the moment…
I just hope I can flip the dicky ho mounts to the back…

Damn that looks nice on those Boas :ok_hand:

I like the look too… Can’t wait to try it… Been raining…

If you have the dickie long mounts, they work good in revers mount. not the small ones, the motor hits the truck.

Hey man, cant you switch the clamps so the screws are not on the bottom side? Gives u more clearance too.

Love ur thread btw!

Thanks dude.
Not on these.
They only go on one way.

They stick out less than the two piece clamp still I believe.

@Boardnamics maybe on future versions of a single clamp make the bolt go on the deck side if possible.

MBS updates.

Did some parts shuffling which will hopefully be upgrades to the mountain board.

I was running 170kv maytech 6474s that had bad sensors.
I was running with HFI which was better than unsensored…
I had 12/70 chain drive.

I am hoping to get better performance running FOC sensored with the Flipksky 190kv 6384s I had on the Demonseed.
These are the motors I had battle hardened and almost killed hitting a rock.
But besides a little vibration they seem to run fine.

While I was at it I got a slightly larger pelican case(1060 from the 1040) to house the Flipksky dual 6.6 plus.

And I’m going from 12 tooth to 11 tooth motor sprocket. Hope that 6.36 gear ratio works well with the 190kv motors.

Using jb weld rtv silicone to plug up all of the wire holes…

New Discovery cloud wheels showed up today.

They are going to go on the Other Demonseed that had the six-shooters back on for a minute…

I just took one ride in the six-shooters and really wasn’t feeling this board with them.

I’m also taking out the hexls and putting on my new boardnamics 220 hangers on here.

Sweet. My father in law dropped off the new work bench top today.

This thing is awesome.

I got so much more real state now.

Got out today for an 11 mile ride with the MBS.
It may be a while before I can hit the trails again because it rained a crap ton here yesterday. That will be the real test of how well the new set up does.

But I did ride on some wet grass and it did really well.

I still get such a kick at how much bigger the playground is with this set up.

On a paved trail… People are coming… Just hop on the grass…

I also never get over how weird it is to hose down a skateboard…

Ok.
So who is keeping up.

Today’s parts shuffle…

This was the “Other Demonseed’s” deck, trucks and wheels.

But with “The Paradigm’s” battery, focboxes and motors.

I took out the hexls and six shooters.

Put on the new clouds and boardnamics hangers and mounts.

So now it is really more like the Paradigm but just with the Demonseed deck…

I really hope this itteration of the cloud wheels is actually good and they don’t try to kill me.

Today was a real getting parts extravaganza…

More shuffling parts.

Another refresh of the Evolve.

Put on the Hexls that came off the “Other Demonseed” and the blacked out blue Caguamas that used to be on the “DB Coreflex” before it got the Boas.

The Evolve was pretty fun with the TB 218s. But I wished I could have mounted them drop through… And could not without cutting the deck…
Well with the Hexls I could. And it looks and feels much cooler down low.

I had the old Evolve wheels on here as someday I want to learn to slide this board. But for now I slapped the blue Caguamas on there.
If I am inspired to slide later I might get some purple Caguamas.

I was able to attach the boardnamics idler mounts to the psychotiller single clamps that were on the Hexls so that worked out super…

I am really stoked on how it looks.

I only took it for a quick spin in front of the house since the loctite is fresh but it felt pretty freaking sweet to carve on.

My addict mind is already thinking I ought to drop a real battery and esc in here…

I got the Haero Bro finished up and running last night.
It is pretty magical.
Probably the nicest looking of all the builds.
Ran pretty sweet.
