Tell them you are concerned that it might be counterfeit, but don’t tell them where you bought it.

If they determine that it’s counterfeit, they might not be willing to return it,

But maybe they’ll let you have it back (with branding removed) if you offer to name the counterfeiter and help them get the helmets removed from the marketplace.

Its either trolling or being embarrassed they got scammed at this point. Taking out the linear is legitimately a 30 second process.

If its latter sorry man. It happens but dont burry your head litterally in the sand and risk your saftey.

I went in to it just curious as id seen some one with one, he was on a bike,i advised against this. I think for esk8 its probably ok?If i lost it i wouldnt really care, its nicer than it should be> That said <id use it if it could be non destructively tested . And it were an known safety quanity, wich i concede its in question for sure.
I started wearing Shoei rf800s then 1000s(i have a medium legit Shoei rf 1000 in black and white checker board ill give away for shipping, no crashes, medium size)I have a Xlite carbon that is my daily . The visors i got from ali express in iridium and clear are awsome and cheap(for xlite).

Im actualy a gear nazi ,but i dress to get up and i got 12 life time concusions (MMM CTE)i bet this explains a lot huh?

if i had my way id have every damed one of you in a perforated leather suit, I had to step off my run away board 3 months ago,46 mph,i had a bad compression bruise, thats it .

Be safe no idea why but people actualy love you so dont die

There is some damage from something in the foam it’s superficial, like the snaps from the lining was rubbing or was ham fisted at installation

That is authentic as far I can tell.

Inspection sticker. Date codes. Correct sizing sticker. Correct EPS foam.
I believe the vent holes are correct too but i’ve never used an RF1100. But id believe this one is legit.

This isn’t the KTM one correct? Because unless i’m mistake then KTM one is suppose to be an x14?

Given the Snell 2010 sticker, I’m guessing this is a genuine helmet, it’s just been in inventory so long that they need to discount it in order to sell it.

One of the track-day organizations in my area requires Snell 2015 or newer.

Edit: on another tag it says that the helmet was manufactured in July 2012.

So, since you are the staunchest cynic, how do you think the Chinese got REAL Shoei helmets, new to sell at ten cents on the dollar?

Another question for all. Why are they selling the rf1100 for 135, and the X15 for 135?

They don’t they are cloning and make fakes. Every single one sold on ali is a fake.

The helmet he posted interior photos of is a helmet he legitimately purchased from a shoei retailer. It is also not the one he posted a video of Im pretty positive. He also stayed he purchase legitimate ones not from Ali thats the photo he posted.

Because they are all fakes.

Post photos of the helmet you have and stop trying to obfuscate the truth.

69 post later, still no pic :sleepy:

Seriously. Its been almost a week, dude could have worked a side hustle and bought a legit one in the amount of nonsense posting he’s done.

HE’S A MOLDMAKER

Beats me. Wild guess: someone found a dusty pallet in a dark corner of a distributor’s warehouse.

It doesn’t make sense to sell these through the usual channels, since they’re so far out-of-date. Buyers would just send them right back for refunds. So, whoever owned the pallet found another channel.

It’s borderline deceptive for the current retailer to omit the fact that the helmets are a decade old and no longer acceptable for use in competition (or even for practice with some organizations). But the low price makes perfect sense in that context.

I’ve long suspected that the 5-year Snell cycle was designed more to sell helmets than to improve safety. That combined with the relatively low speed of ESK8s (as compared to motorcycles) makes it reasonable (IMO) to buy these 2012-era helmets and skate with them.

Just to clone a helmet, takes likely a dozen molds, and lots of fixturing. People familiar with helmet mfg. That is no small undertaking. And the spans of models they sell, means huge factories devoted to helmets. And to not have puckers and gaps in 3d molds, and 3d forms, is quite astonishing. Just getting the holes to line up, on 3d forms, is careful planning, and top tech. Then you get to the finishes of painted helmets, that have decals, and stripes, and complicated matches of racers helmets.

I am not anywhere near saying I understand it all, but hope something good did happen.

To add, I just put my hand up the interior, and all the channels are there, the air drops are there, and the materials seem like Shoei.

Post photos.

Is this offer valid for me too?

All the negative feedback is specifically about how shitty the quality is and how oem visors and accessories don’t fit…

My guy, this is not what they mean by ā€œsaving faceā€

Unfortunately, I am dealing with the starting/running properly before I delve back into the helmet I have on top of my dresser.
