I’m not sure I should have recommended the Turnigy SK8. I kind of assumed the quality would be the same as the SK3, but according to user reviews, that might not be the case, as they are pretty poor.
I was in the same boat as you, but after some research I ordered Reacher 6385\170kV for 12S.
It has curved magnetics and is battle hardened.
They also have bigger motors but it’s starting to get expensive.
Do you mean helical magnets or just curved magnets?
Curved magnets, curved to the can
I have the Reacher 6375 on my street board really happy with them. I’m probably going down that same path. How are you finding the 6385 they must have some kick
Didn’t received yet… lol.
Got your gear ready to go?
yes, i just need me confidence to come back from repairs too
lemme just, buy me a new spangled set of curve toothed gear drives, yessir
Got the Motors they are huge upgrades compared to my older Fatjay 6368. I noticed more torque and braking power.
The only downside is they are having too long shafts, I didn’t want to cut them off, so made 2 aluminum distance Pieces.
I can test the motors hopefully in few months when the weather is allowing me to do it.
Very nice. Which motors?
Reacher 6385 170Kv on 12S.
Enough for me… They can be run up to 16S.
18s should be fine for them too.
Having longer motor screws for this can cause some issues with durability. See if you can get some that are only partially threaded.
Or pop a bearing in that hole
